Operation Ramp | JUL 1998 - PRESENT | PREDEPLOYMENT |
With the Department of Defence preparing a pre-deployment list, 72 hours notice would be given to all crews and personnel listed. With all the crews and personnel being warned, those already on the ships in the docks would begin pre-deployment checks, as well as loading up all vessels with enough supplies to last them. HMAS Sirius would also be fully loaded with the maximum amount of fuel (Aviation & Diesel), Munitions, Water, Naval Stores and Consumables. 25 members of the Special Air Service would make their way to HMAS Canberra where they would join the two clearance diving teams. A route would also be planned and sent to all the ships & aircraft taking part: PF > OF > NG > NH > NI > NJ > NK (Ships) & PF > OF > NG > NH > NI > NJ > NK > MK. The Republic of India was also notified of the small deployment of the Royal Australian Navy, Royal Australian Air Force and the Australian Army however the Special Air Service would be disguised as normal Army Personnel. No Forces were deployed as of yet.
