The National Cabinet has assumed control over the appratus of state as instituted at the people's behest via a general election. To ensure public order and transparency, the Cabinet has taken great care to outline the policy of the new government towards affairs and administration external and internal.
"The national cabinet shall aim to ensure the honest and unfettered governance of the Belgian state without respect to partisan prejudices or personal incompetence. It shall take care to secure the people's welfare and civil liberties while instilling traditional morality and working to preserve an atomosphere capable of meeting the needs of the family unit and those who cannot without reference to their cruel fate protect themselves or live a decent life. Our hope is that our administration will secure Belgium's position on the world stage for the next three years." - Adriaan Marrissens, Prime Minister
"As Belgium's new foreign minister it is my intention to keep this country neutral or avoidant with respect to foreign disputes as this poses a threat to national sovereignty and economic growth in the field of trade. At the same time, we aim to remain on good terms with all nations in particular those nearest to our borders to allow for the free flow of capital and consumer goods. " - Kristopher Reensma, Foreign Minister
"The new government must continue to build up Belgium's army and air force while making arrangements with The United Kingdom to provide a naval task force so as to protect Belgium's territorial waters. Overall, if we can avoid hostilities abroad and perhaps receive a heft bit of funding we'll have before a chance to maintain our sovereign independence." - Geert Van den Bosch, Minister of Defense
"Part of the problem we've been having since 1989, is a resurgence in crime and the need to prevent civil disturbances in business districts or areas populated by middle class families as is occassionally the case with fascist and communist organisations in this country. Order requires the readiness and cooperation of various communities to be armed and organised to protect themselves and their property as Area Watch patrols." - Alexander Gordt, Minister of Public Safety
"So far we intend to increase funding for education at both the federal and provincial level with all of the dedication towards meeting public needs. The consolidation of the nation's educational facilities is of pressing concern and ought to promote a nationally inclined civic consciousness along with the value of honest hardwork." - Jerome Syvessant, Minister of Education
"The new administration has an obligation to lay the foundation for universal free healthcare and socialized medicine in this country. " - Hans De Ruyter, Minister of Health
"What is needed is an independent judiciary whose character is apolitical and efficent." Janus Klein, Minister of Justice
Together we seek to restore Belgium's pride and sense of direction from this point forward.
