This morning, many Belgians are out of work as the national economy tanks and unemployment reaches increasing disturbing purportions, with 19 billion in debt the government is caught once more between the general welfare and fiscal responsibility.
Throughout Brussels, people quene up for unemployment benefits and poverty relief. Many are uncertain about their future and as the debt crisis continues to spirall out of control yet more are clamouring to false hopes of a recovery.
When asked to comment in a press conference, Prime Minister Marrissens said the following:
"A new day has dawned in Belgium, but is not the one we'd like to see let alone the one we dreamed of. It is the intention of this administration to allievate the woes of the public but we need time."
And So the question remains....where is Belgium as a country heading?
