It is with a spirit of goodwill and mutual respect that I write to you today to emphasise the need for further deepening our bilateral relationship, one that has long been a cornerstone of our shared commitment to peace, prosperity, and progress. As leaders of the Americas, we navigate the complexities of a rapidly evolving global landscape and the ties between our two nations have never been more vital. The United States and Brazil share common core values: democracy, human rights, and economic freedom, which have guided our interactions for decades. In light of the emerging challenges of the 21st century and opportunities it brings, I believe now is the time to renew our partnership and pursue a collaborative agenda that will benefit not just our countries but also the international community. In this context, I would like to propose the expansion of our cooperation in several key areas, including but limited to, economics and trade, environmental protections, science and technology, defence and security, and travel and migrations within the Americas. In light of these priorities, I propose dialogue between our recently appointed Ambassador to Washington, D.C., Roberto Abdenur, and your office to explore these areas of mutual interest further and to lay out a strategic framework for our partnership moving forward. I believe our dialogue can continue to advance the cause of democracy, economic growth, and sustainable development between our two nations.
