A secret and encrypted telephone call would be placed from Victor Romero's office phone to that of the UK Prime Minister Jericho Bourne's in London. After the phone is picked up on the London side president Romero would say, "Hello, this is President Victor Romero of Brazil. I wish to speak to PM Bourne immediately. It is of the upmost importance. Thank you."

The British Deputy Prime Minister, Sebastian Gibbs, answered the call on a private and encrypted line.
"Good Morning. Unfortunately Mr Bourne is out of the country right now, but, before this call begins, I request that the call remain civil. I'm aware of the tension sparked by yourself in these calls. Nonetheless, I'm the Deputy Prime Minister, more than authorised to discuss anything you'd like. How can I help you?"

"Well, Deputy Minister Gibbs since PM Bourne will not answer my call, then I will just declare this Ascension business is merely a foul-up in navigation. You must admit to yourself Little Ascension is difficult to find on most maps, due ti its insignificance. The Brazilian Navy was merely conducting a replenishment exercise. I have been told by my commanders our fleet has already left your territorial waters. This mistake shall not happen again on the future. I assure of that."

"Respectfully, Ascension Island is evidently a long distance away from Brazil. For them to even be that close to Ascension Island whilst having such a navigiational blip is of concern, I think you understand that especially given the breach into our waters. I'd request any future exercises aim not to be around Ascension Island.
However, it has highlighted a flaw in our response so their will be a frigate stationed near the island for future reference, but, we are happy to overlook the navigational blip and not hold it against you."

"Thank you for your call, and I appreciate that. Is there anything else you needed to discuss?"

President Romero anxiously taps his fingers on his desk. He thinks to himself for a second.

The previous row was over what I thought was unfair prices for weapons systems and now this territorial incursion. What next?

"Well, I understand relations have been strained of late. But I hope we can keep lines of communication open and perhaps repair them in the future. I will point out that before voiced our displeasure with Ziron's prices and your government's duplicitous role in the over-charging of my country, I was actually invited to London to meet with Prime Minister Bourne. We were oh-so close to cementing a friendship and now we are at the stage we are in. How do you propose we restore ties to what would have amounted to a State Visit?"

"I am confused, I am not aware of any requested sales by yourself from Ziron? No other country has complained of Ziron's sales prices either as they're the second biggest private defence manufacturer globally. But, you'd need to contact Ziron yourself to discuss any issues with prices. You ask me about restoring ties, but have you considered why there is a problem?

Every call we engage in, results in you attempting to attack the UK in one way or another, and it's all about money. Ultimately, the UK will give you a quote on goods we're selling, if that is too steep for your economy, you are not forced to buy it?
You have not made any requested sales with Ziron that I'm aware of, unless you can show me otherwise? Or, are you thinking Ziron is state owned? Because Ziron and the British Government are different entities.

I am very welcome to building relations, but I think we need to address the elephant in the room. You seem to have a constant issue with what the British Government do, as if everything said or done is some personal attack. We could have hundreds of state visits, but it won't change anything unless you're willing to work with us, instead of seemingly against us all the time and on every call."

"I am sorry. To say that the British government has never facilitated any relationship between Brazil and Ziron is grossly inaccurate. That assertion is so patently false, that there is no need for further discussion. And to a blame a row between two countries solely on one and to say that point blank to a representative of that country is arrogant in the the extreme. But I thank you for your honesty. Best of luck to you and your countrymen."

With that the line goes dead. President Romero puts the phone down and returns to his notes from the Brazilian Navy's military exercise in the South Atlantic.

"What a surprise.." he mumbled to himself. His intentions of solving their issues clearly weren't welcome by the Brazilian Government. Nonetheless, he'd continue business like normal.
