From: Minister John Manley

Dearest Minister Theunissen,

I hope this message reaches you well, my name is John Manley, the Minister of Global Affairs for Canada. It is my pleasure to be the one to reach out to you and open diplomatic dialogue between my nation and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The policy of the re-elected Canadian government is to reach out globally and form friendships and connections with the nations of the Earth. Canada and the Netherlands have had a closer relationship since the Second World War: the royal family of the Netherlands being hosted here in their exile and the liberation of the Netherlands from the German Reich was led by Canadian forces.

It would be our honor to reopen this relationship once more with the discussion of diplomacy, trade, and tourism. The Canadian government would also be interested in reviving the Canadian Tulip Festival with the aid of the Netherlands and your famous tulips to be planted across Ottawa. Perhaps during the next festival you could meet with me in Ottawa for the world's largest tulip festival.

I am eager to hear from you,
John Manley
Minister of Foreign Affairs
Canada

Minister Manley,

It is a true pleasure to have received this correspondence from your government. I have been tasked with responding to this dialogue while Minister Theunissen is currently preoccupied with peace talks.

On behalf of my government, we wish to congratulate you on your electoral victory, though we are concerned to see the rise of nationalist elements within your nations. The Netherlands shall never forget the sacrifices of your nation during our most trying times. We are eager to reignite the strength of the relationship between our two great nations and will fully support any endeavourer in establishing bilateral cooperation.

We'd be honoured to support the revival of the Canadian Tulip Festival and I'm certain that we will be able to have a representative of my government, either Minister Theunissen, myself or the ambassador, be present.

Yours Sincerely,

Noor Alink
Secretary of State for Trade & International Development

Dearest Secretary Alink,

Thank you for your congratulations, Secretary Alink.

The current government is just as concerned with the sudden nationalistic ideas of the Canadian people. We are hoping that this nationalism will die down and be forgotten by the next election, as they usually do within Canada. However, the fact that the people would vote for a party promoting the swastika and fascism is something that we are keeping our eyes on very closely. Banning the party seemed to be something that many within the Parliament would approve of but has remained untouched as an option as to not instigate violence from the party's supporters.

Regarding the Canadian Tulip Festival, that is wonderful news! With May soon approaching we are eager to be able to begin receiving Dutch tulips once more to be planted all across Ottawa to be seen by all during the Tulip Festival.

Until then, however, I believe we should focus on current talks. My government would like to ask yours on their opinion and stance regarding the 'High Kingdom of France'. I am assuming that the peace talks Minister Theunissen is occupied with are regarding the Belgian-French War? If so, I hope they are going well as France's current government has been rather aggressive towards Canada relating to the situation with Quebec. We were wondering on the Netherlands' stance on the country to determine whether or not France's threats should be taken literal.

Kindest Regards,
John Manley
Minister of Foreign Affairs
Canada
