Prime Minister Elected

Above: Thousands flood the grounds of Parliament Hill in Ottawa to show support for the new Prime Minister

After the Intro theme fades out, the Camera pans to two News Anchors, one male & one female, both sat behind their desk. As the camera comes to a halt in front of them, both smile and they introduce themselves.

"Good afternoon. You are watching CBC News and I am Peter Mansbridge."

"And I am Mary Kennedy. Your top headline this afternoon;"

Peter began to speak, reading off the screen directly in front of him, underneath the camera. He spoke fluently, hiding the fact he was basically being scripted.

"Yesterday held an exciting time Canadians across the country as the Election results were finally revealed. MP Catherine Patterson, leader of the Conservative Party went and smashed a record-breaking majority vote across Parliament to become our new Prime Minister. A vote which shocked the nation. Thousands have gathered outside Parliament Hill today, awaiting the new Prime Minister to arrive and begin her first day on the job. It's quite a view from what we can see here."

"Yes, it is. But to get an additional feeling for what is going on down there, we have our Political Editor on the ground right now, amongst the masses of excited public, talking to them and really finding out how they are feeling today. Let's have a look."

The camera faded out and was replaced with a live feed from the grounds of Parliament Hill, where the Political Editor seemed to be surrounded by crowds of fans. He steadied himself and began to speak, trying to get his words out over the cheering and chanting going on around him.

"Good afternoon and thank you, Mary. Today is indeed, as you can probably see around me, a very exciting time for a lot of people. I have heard from officials which are watching the grounds now, that there is easily 5,000 plus trying to get access in to hear the Prime Ministers speech on her arrival into Parliament Hill. The Governor-General Johnathan Ramirez has spent the morning with her, preparing her for the day ahead and will probably stick by her side for the next few days until she is up to speed on her daily tasks. Both are scheduled to arrive within the next 20 minutes. We, as always, have a live coverage of the speech for those who aren't coming out today. So stay tuned for that. Back to you, Mary."

The camera fades out, bringing back the image of the two News Anchor's sat behind their desk. Mary collects her papers and bundles them together for easier reading. Mary glanced at her notes before she spoke out.

"Thank you for that. That was our Political Editor on the ground at Parliament Hill. We'll back in 15 minutes where we will be broadcasting the Speech live to you all. See you soon!"

The camera fades back out from the two News Anchors and the News theme begins playing in the background and the CBC Logo shines brightly on the screen.
