From his office in the Royal Palace, Edward was informed of the call coming in for the King and would have it promptly transferred over to his office's line.

"Good afternoon, this is Secretary of Defense Edward Yen. I carry the authority to speak on behalf of the King while he is out of the country on official business."

"Good day, Mr. Yen. I'm calling the Kingdom of Singapore today to discuss the peacekeepers and aid forces located in Vancouver and British Columbia. While the Canadian people deeply appreciate the help that Singapore has given to the people of British Columbia, the civil war is over and we believe that foreign armed forces in our borders will prevent us from properly re-building and moving forward."

"That is a fair point to make, Mr. Henderson. To start off, we would like to congratulate both you and your party for winning the election. Our kingdom had the priviledge of viewing the election first-hand, and we are glad to see Canada getting back on it's feet after all your country has been through." Edward would quickly bring up the information stored on his personal computer regarding Singapore's plan regarding Canada.

"In truth, we had planned for our mission to end shortly after confirming the elections were done, and a stable government had taken control. We have no issues with wrapping up our operation now that your government is able to focus on internal matters other than conflict.

With that said, our King did wish to convey a couple of points to your government. Firstly, we are aware of the recent declaration you made, and while our Kingdom has little desire to interfere with Canadian policy, our King would like an assurance from your government on the equal treatment of Asian citizens and refugees currently living in your country. Operation Safeguard was a success in terms of securing Vancouver from communist and islamist infiltration, and we believe the Asian-majority populations were rather receptive to Nationalist-friendly rhetoric, along with the security we provided.

We are not demanding anything, just to clarify, but as friends who offered our aid to your cause it is imperative that our position is understood when it comes to Asians both in Asia, and abroad. If we can reach an agreement in regards to this, more productive topics will most certainly follow."

"I understand your concern about the Brotherhood's recent reforms. But I assure you that there is nothing to fear. our reform was not meant to be taken as us taking away the rights of non-anglophone and francophone Canadians but to simply, as a country, focus on our ancestry."

"No minority will be prevented to practice their own cultures, their own holidays, or their own religions within the borders of Canada - as long as the cultures, holidays, and religions of anglophone and francophone Canadians are respected."

"As for the refugees, those who cannot make the immigration standard will be transferred to another country that will welcome them, or, unfortunately be returned to their country of origin. Ultimately, Canada can no longer support the large influx of both immigrants and refugees that the Liberal regime allowed in our country, especially now with a civil war that has just ended."

"I can guarantee that any member of Asian ancestry that holds a Canadian citizenship will be treated as a Canadian and not as a minority."

"Very well, I believe we can move forwards with that issue being settled." Edward would bring a pause to the conversation as he quickly glanced through his notes.

"Secondly, our Kingdom is willing to establish a free trade agreement between our nations. Along with that, we are interested in establishing trade routes between our nations for the importation of Canadian timber in exchange for any of the resources we current export. Our main exports are electrical machinery, finished machinery such as computers, mineral oils, precious gems and organic chemicals. We are certain that an exclusive route for trade would be mutually-prosperous, alongside the FTA."

"Wonderful, I am glad we could settle that easily."

"A trade agreement between our two nations would be quite useful, indeed. Machinery, mainly computers would be a wonderful deal for our large amounts of timber. We have a lot of companies on Vancouver Island who will be able to supply Singapore with more than enough timber in exchange for machinery. We'll be able to ship this timber from Vancouver port to Singapore."

"Does this trade satisfy the Kingdom of Singapore?"

"These terms are acceptable, and we will arrange for our merchant fleets to begin exportation to the Port of Vancouver within the next couple of days. That, plus the free trade agreement, cover all that we wish to discuss in regards to establishing trading relations between our nations.

Were there any points of interests your government wished to discuss with our own? Aside from trade, we are interested in establishing closer relations as well. Considering our involvement in assisting your side during the civil war, we see it as only natural that we look to Canada as a potential ally in the Pacific."

"Wonderful, this trade will surely benefit both of our countries in many ways. AS for your involvement in assisting us during the civil war, I would love to have a potential ally in this world, however, our shipyards along with our ships have taken a sever loss during the war, along with our economy."

"So as much as I would love to say that Canada could be a potential force in the Pacific but our navy is next to non-existant. Which would bring me to my next offer. Our ships yards and economy cannot afford to build Canadian ships, perhaps we could afford Singaporean ships. We would pay for your ships to be built in Singapore and then shipped to Canada."

"We will clearly need to work out the details, but I believe this could once again benefit both of our countries."

"In regards to assisting Canada with rebuilding its fleet, the Kingdom of Singapore has reached this topic previously, during our initial observations of the war." Taking a moment to open up a gray-colored file sitting on top of the rest of his information, Edward would review them quickly and efficiently before continuing on the subject with the Prime Minister.

"King Wei had prepared a series of naval packages to be offered and prepared for the Canadian government upon seeing stability return to the rest of the country. We can understand any economical restraints that may stop you from purchasing the more expensive packages.

War has a toll, and as a friend to Canada we have a cost effective and efficient package of 11 Sea Wolf-class Missile Gunboats, all produced at their base cost of material...with a modest 20% mark-up. I'm arranging to have the details emailed to your office immediately."
Edward was quick and efficient when it came to handling diplomacy on behalf of his King. He chose to be straight to the point, much to the opposite of the King's right hand, Yusef.

"We would also like to confirm a pact of mutual defense, assuming it's within your country's interests to do so. It is most certainly my King's desire to cement the ties between our countries even further."

"That would be a grand idea and would help Canada tremendously, Mr. Yen, thank you. I will speak to my Ministry of Finance about transferring the funds to the Kingdom of Singapore as soon as possible."

"While Canada may not have the greatest force to help Singapore at the moment, we wouldn't hesistate to defend those that defended us in the past. I agree that a pact of mutual defense would be a wonderful idea for the both of our countries."

"Good to hear, Prime Minister, on all accounts. In order to have a defense treaty ratified, it will require the signature of our King first and foremost. We'll send over a signed copy to your office in a couple of days after his business in Hong Kong is finished. We'll send over an official bill in regards to the naval package within the hour, as well. I believe that's all we wished to cover, assuming you did not have anything else on the agenda."

"That's wonderful news, my government will patiently await for the signed copy along with the bill for the naval package."

"I believe we've covered everything that we needed to in this call, Mr. Yen. I believe we could call this a success in establishing a friendship between Canada and Singapore."

"I wish you a good day, Mr. Yen."

"Very well, good day to you as well."

Edward would put everything into motion in the following hour that followed. A bill for the naval package would be received by his Canadian counterparts in the Ministry of Finance and a draft for the Defense treaty would be put together in anticipation for the King's signature to come.
