Radio Televisión Nacional de Colombia, better known by its acronym RTVC, is a state-run public radio and television organization created by Decree 3525 on the 28th of October, 2004 with the dissolution of Inravisión under the current government of President Álvaro Uribe Vélez. Being state-run media, it is overseen by the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications, and its main responsibility is to operate state radio and television services. Currently, it is headquartered at Teusaquillo, Bogotá​

BUS TERRORIST ATTACK KILLS 18, INJURES 28

11:00 PM, April 16th, 2006, Bogotá, Colombia​

The Capital mourns today as a bus explodes near a group of demonstrators at approximately 7:45 am this morning. The Bus, owned by a local transport company, was making its way through the crowd before it exploded, killing those in the immediate vicinity and engulfing the vehicle in flames.

Police are currently investigating the motive behind the attack, with no concrete leads as to who had executed the bombing. Supporters of Álvaro Uribe, who were among the principal victims in the bombing, have called for quick justice for those killed in the incident. Many of these demonstrators have claimed that the bombing was orchestrated by ELN-FARC, in response to Uribe's campaigns against the rebel group for the past few years.

"There is no evidence to tie the current bombing to ELN-FARC, and I assure the public that the National Police is doing its best in finding the perpetrators and bringing them to justice. Currently we have identified 16 victims so far, and the forensic team is currently doing their best in identifying the rest. Whoever had orchestrated this bombing, one thing is clear: This is a show not of power, not of strength, but of cowardice. Colombia mourns this heinous attack at her Capital, and I promise to you, my fellow Colombians, that justice will be dealt swiftly."

Among those who perished in the bombing was Partido Conservador Colombiano Member of Parliament Alonso Mingo. The party is yet to release an official statement as of this time. Dear viewers, may you join us in a moment of silence for those who had perished in the attack.​
