[Subject]: Investigation into Canadian Civil War |
Dear Director, I hope that this message finds you well and in good health. The Federal Police wishes to extend its professional appreciation for communications, weapon shipments, and other information provided. As part of our investigation, we would like to ask for permission to interview Jean-François Fontaine. Additionally, we would like a transcript of the French investigator's questions to Mr. Fontaine. We hope that the full transcript may be shared unredacted. We would also like the manifests of the French ships used to transport the weapons and the armory, manufacturer, or other entity where the weapons were drawn from. We hope this information can be provided in its original format including signatories of those who cleared the removal of this equipment either from the manufacturer's site or the Army's storage. We would also like access to the DGSI's records on Fontaine and his associate's activities. If possible we would also like any records pertaining to the DGSE's activities in Canada during the period between 1996-2003 to allow us to understand the scope of the former government's involvement. We appreciate your cooperation during these times and look forward for your assistance in allowing us to complete our investigation. Additionally I wish to extend my appreciation once more for your sharing of information already. Sincerely, Sarah Hardt Minister of Interior Chief Investigator Federal Criminal Bureau Federal Republic of Germany |
