Chief Justice Olhouser, I salute you on behalf of the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt. I contact you with a specific query, regarding the scope and jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice you honorably preside. We wish to consult if it is possible for non-GA Parties, such as my nation, to submit international legal cases to be reviewed and ruled by the ICJ, based on Art. 10.2 of it Statute "The Court may settle disputes between corporations, states, individuals or any combination of these three in the event the case resolves around an international dispute." Obviously with the commitment of my nation to abide to the ruling of the ICJ. This obviously parting from the fact that the GA and the ICJ are separate and autarchic entities, and mantaining the current legal status quo of Egypt vis a vis the GA. Sincerely yours, Ahmed Mussa Legal Advisor Minister of Foreign Affairs Arab Republic of Egypt |
