EXECUTIVE BRANCH

The Executive Branch is created by Article 2 of the U.S. Constitution. It includes the President who is elected by the Electoral College, the members of which are directly elected by the people. The executive powers of the government are vested in the office of the President of The United States. His powers, roles, and responsibilities are all numerous yet they are still counterbalanced by those vested to the Legislative and Judicial branches, as well as elections for President which occur every four years. The duty of the Executive Branch is to enforce the laws which are passed by Congress. The Constitution requires that the President appoint a Cabinet to advise him, the members of which include the Vice President, 15 Executive Department secretaries, and various people designated as cabinet-officials - all of these individuals, except for the Vice President, serve at the pleasure of the President, and must by law follow his legal orders and may be dismissed by him at any time.
