[FRA] Call to Italy

The Minister of Defense, Florence Parly, would use an encrypted line to contact her Italian counterpart on the current Brazilian situation.

[Logan]

The Grand Marshal of Italy, Patrizio Manco, whose position was essentially that of Commander in Chief, answered the Phone,

"Grand Marshal Manco speaking, how many I help you?"

 

[Ellie]

"Good day, Grand Marshal. This is Minister Florence Parly speaking, Minister of Defense for France. I would like to discuss the current situation with Brazil with you if you don't mind of course."

[Logan]

"That shouldn't be a problem."

 

[Ellie]

"Wonderful, we heard your statement regarding Brazil's threats to France and we thank you for that. However, I think we can both agree that having a war in the Mediterranean is something that we would like to avoid, yes?

I was hoping that you would be able to agree in having no Italian ship attack any Brazilian ship without them provoking either France or Italy.

Keeping global peace is something that should be at the top of all our lists. Furthermore, if push comes to shove, Italy and France cannot be seen as the aggressors, would you agree?"

[Logan]

"This is agreeable, however, until the crisis has fully abated, I would alert," he'd pause a minute before making sure that his end of the Phone Call was sufficiently encrypted to keep just anyone from being able to listen in, "Italy does have a pair of Todaro-class submarines that will continue patrolling the approaches to Gibraltar until, well, until we can be assured that this whole situation calms down."

 

[Ellie]

"That is quite fine, our own navy will be monitoring the waters near our country. I just ask that Italy does not do anything rash as to make Italy and France seem like the aggressors to the rest of the world." Florence would take a sip of water. "Furthermore, if the Italian Navy would ever find the need to during this high-alert situation, they may dock at any of France's ports. As long as notice is given prior to the docking, of course."

"We thank you for this spirit of cooperation. As things stand, Our navy should be capable of returning to our own ports when needed, however, I will ensure our Fleet Admiral gives notice if this is necessary."

 

[Ellie]

"Wonderful, I am glad we could work things out. Have a good day, Grand Marshal."
