[France]: Visit to Israel

Ambassador Gérard Araud had touched down at Tel Aviv-Ben Gurion International Airport from Paris, he was to begin his new posting as the new French Ambassador to the State of Israel. He was a well respected diplomat within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, he was accompanied by three plain clothed agents from the Overseas Gendarmerie Branch within the National Gendarmerie. They departed the airport bound for Jerusalem in an embassy owned vehicle which had been brought to the airport via a junior staffer whilst he conferred in the back of the vehicle with his aide whilst discussing paperwork surrounding the new French Government and its missions and aims for the relationship between the French Republic and the State of Israel. Upon arrival in Jerusalem, the vehicle made its way towards the upscale central Jerusalem neighborhood of Rehavia which was the home of the Beit Aghion which housed the Prime Minister of Israel, the car pulled up across the street and out stepped the Ambassador as he sparked a cigar as he headed over to the entrance where he flashed his diplomatic credentials.

"Bonjour. I am here to see the Prime Minister please, tell her it's urgent. I'm the new French Ambassador."

He was flanked by his aide and two of the agents whilst the other remained with the vehicle, communicating through the encrypted radio in the vehicle which was linked back to the embassy.

The Israel Police officers who were standing there would look at each other. One would pick up the phone which communicated from the gate to the Prime Minister's Personal Assistant's office.

"Shalom, there is somebody here who is claiming to be the French Ambassador to see the Prime Minister."

The personal assistant would check the diary.

"There's no appointment with him. Also tell him the Prime Minister isn't here, she's in her office."

The police officer would look at the Ambassador.

"Sir there is no appointment with the Prime Minister, you need to organise an appointment, she is a very busy woman. She also is not here currently."

The personal assistant would ring back.

"Yep?" The police officer would respond.

"He's the new Ambassador, I just checked with the President's office and he hasn't even handed in his credentials to the President. Tell him that needs to be done before he can begin his work as the Ambassador."

The police officer would turn back to the Ambassador.

"Sir, you are required to give your credentials to the President. He is home currently and is ready to receive you at the President's residence, which is around the corner on HaNasi Street."

The new Ambassador made his way back to the diplomatic vehicle and made his way to a local cafe where he was to write an email to the office of the President of the State of Israel requesting a meeting with the President to present his credentials and receive his approval as the new Ambassador.
