OPERATION SILENT VANGUARD (OSV)
TOP SECRET
Deployment List (ORBAT)
OSV contains three Vijayee-class SSBNs.

Naval Staff
Eastern Naval Command
Commodore Commanding Submarines (East) - all based at INS Virbahu
4th Submarine Squadron (4SUBRON)
IGS Vijayee - 222 personnel (Alpha crew, Zulu Crew)
IGS Vijay - S11 - 222 personnel (Alpha crew, Zulu Crew)
IGS Jeetana - S12 - 222 personnel (Alpha crew, Zulu Crew)
Mission Objective
The mission objective is to conduct strategic deterrence and to ensure first / second strike capabilities are operational for the whole year, in the event of major conflict.
Mission Details
The 4th Submarine Squadron would be assigned to conduct strategic deterrence for the Gandhi Empire. This would be achieved through a prolonged deployment schedule and rotating crews. The deploying crew would not allowed to have any external contact with the world and all active emissions, such as sonar, radar and communications, would be banned. Communications with the Indian Armed Forces chain of command would be continuously monitored in the event of conflict or tensions. The deploying vessel would have a full 60 days' supplies aboard, and all weapons, sensor and other systems would be fully capable of operation and armed (when applicable), but kept on standby. It would always have 16 M51 SLBMs, half with 10 MIRV warheads, the other with 6 MIRV warheads. She would, at all times, man her passive sonar suite and would ensure that she does not impact anything other than water. When in port, she would be heavily guarded underneath a visual barrier (there are many examples of these around INS Virbahu IRL, one can be seen at 17°42'23"N 83°16'23"E). The barriers the SSBNs would be placed under would be randomised.

IGS Vijayee would leave port after her crew had undergone a two week workup period and two weeks of leave, then a week-long gag order on all personnel involved to insure the security of the mission. The submarine would leave INS Virbahu at half past four in the morning to avoid surveillance. Vijayee would submerge as soon as possible and would turn south at 5 knots until she had cleared the port area (NK). Vijayee would follow the route south at 12 knots and 500 feet depth, to the patrol area (NK->NJ), where she would loiter at 10 knots at a depth of 1000 feet (MJ, NJ, MI, NI). Once her loiter time concludes and Vijayee is low on supplies, she would follow the same route back up and would enter port at night to prevent surveillance. The submarine would then be restocked, resupplied and repaired/maintained, and the next crew would prepare for deployment. The next submarine of the Vijayee-class, IGS Vijay, would undergo the same cycle, then the third submarine of 6SUBRON, IGS Jeetana, before IGS Vijayee would undergo the deployment and cycle again, except with the alternate crew.

All activities would occur within NK, NJ, NI, MJ and MI.
Date/s: February, 2006 to present
4:30PM, 9/3 2025 - added new Vijayee-class SSBNs to the list - plus 444 personnel
