[Germany] A Government Comment on the Media Situation with France

NagandEmerald

His Imperial & Royal Majesty, Friedrich IV
Aug 18, 2018

The Federal Government of the German Reich proceeded to scratch their heads in collective confusion at France's decision to effectively restrict freedom of speech, likening it to the efforts of the Democratic Peoples' Republic of Korea (North Korea) to suppress the press to only state-issued broadcasts in order to ensure that people weren't dissenting; such actions were considered concerning, and both Reich Chancellor Nahles and Kaiser Friedrich made their own declarations on the matter.

Reich Chancellor Andrea Nahles said:
This is an outrage to democracy; how can we be expected to be considered dense or unable to take criticism levied against us, when such criticism seems to be state-censored? Freedom of speech is almost as important as the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness within your own nation, and I cannot stand by and let what was once a legitimately-democratic regime ruin France. Macron needs to be deposed of, now, regardless of his seeming inability to die, before he is allowed to cause another violent revolution in his own country!

Kaiser Friedrich IV said:
It is both fascinating and terrifying how much France has come in the past decade...I do not expect a good outcome of this recent escapade of emotional immaturity from the French government. I knew President Macron; he may not have been the best of leaders, but he certainly didn't resort to restrictions in freedom of speech; I do not wish to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I almost doubt the legitimacy of his claims that he is Emanuel Macron, and I cannot overstate how terrifying it would be if someone, regardless of who they were, were to impersonate such a powerful political figurehead. The way this government, and 'Macron' in particular, seem to carry themselves is rather indicative of trying to hide something. Calling other countries and their media racist, dense, or unable to take criticism, also seems rather suspicious, given that no one has made any racial remarks. The focus has been entirely on 'Macron's' survival in the Socialist Republic of the French People. If people have a sense of emotional maturity about them, they will take claims that 'Macron is Jesus', or 'Macron is a lizard', or even 'Macron is not who he seems' and scrutinize it heavily under a skeptical lens. As I stated, I do not wish to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but given how I knew Macron when he was in power during the Yellow Vest protests, I cannot say that I entirely believe that this is the real Emanuel Macron, but potentially an impostor.

The Kaiser's comments in particular drew conspiracy theorists and media outlets who were looking for a good story like moths to flame, contrary to his wishes, and many media outlets, both accredited and deemed inane or discredited, took the idea of Macron not being who he seemed and both ran with it and passed it onto international outlets.
