Greetings Charelle Hesseling,

My name is Klaus Kinkel. I am the Vice Chancellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Federal Republic of Germany. I am contacting you today in an effort to establish formal contact and to discuss the availability of trade opportunities. We would like closer ties to all of our European neighbors to insure peace and stability as we move closer to the new millennium. We believe that open dialog is critical first step in that process. We would like to send Dirk Brengelmann to be our ambassador in The Hague if that is to be permitted. We would also like to receive an ambassador from Netherlands.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,
Klaus Kinkel

Greetings Fausto Kruiper,

There is no need to apologize. I can sympathize that Minister Hesseling is extremely busy. We have had a quite a time trying to get our house in order along with making the proper diplomatic contacts. We have had to sent out multiple emails simply making sure our contact information is still correct. I would like to have a meeting here at my office with your ambassador Ms Jill Mosterd. We have a lot to discuss and I think it a good idea to do it in person. How does Monday morning at 1000 sound?

Regards,
Klaus Kinkel

Hello again Fausto Kruiper,

I look forward to meeting Ambassador Mosterd. She will not be needing anything special for the meeting. I assume she has a fully understanding of Dutch policy regarding Trade, Visa Requirements, and Defense. I believe this meeting to be an important step in rekindling dutch-german relations. I have also received word from our GDE sales department on your recent purchase of new merchant vessels. They are being built as we speak. I'm sure you will be please by overall performance of the shipping behemoths. We have been using them for some time now and they constantly exceed all expectations in both size and fuel economy. I will also give a quick nod to our new DBAG Class 145 Electric Locomotives. Since we share a natural land border between us, they make a great way to move exports on land and free up valuable space on your ports. We are currently using them through out eastern Europe and they have been an excellent at moving freight and much more cost effective than moving cargo using trade vessels. If you are interested I would recommend messaging they sales department over at GDE since they would be able to get your order processed much fast than I ever could.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Kind Regards,
Klaus Kinkel

With the meeting scheduled, an armored convoy would head over to the German Embassy to receive the German Ambassador. Once the ambassador enters the vehicle, the vehicle would head over to the Foreign Ministry building where the Assistant Deputy would be waiting to host the ambassador. In a conference room, a table would be set up with with various refreshments and food from both Holland and Germany, two flag poles would be draped with both the Dutch and German flag.

Ambassador Dirk Brengelmann waited outside the German embassy for the transportation that had been sent for him from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He waited alone with only his new Nokia 3110 mobile phone and his brief case with the information he thought the Assistant Deputy Director-General might ask about. He was a bit nervous knowing how important the relationship between Dutch and German governments was. He had been honored when the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Klaus Kinkel, had selected him for the role. But this was his first meeting as the top diplomat and he needed it to go well. He saw the Dutch armoured convoy coming around the corner and the put his game face on. It was time to get to work.

Once they had arrived at the Foreign Ministry building he slowly stepped out of the car and headed inside. He was escorted through the building into a lovely conference room that had obviously been prepped for his arrival. He looked at the flags standing at one end of the conference table and immediately thought of the great significance of them standing so close together. He looked at the wonderful spread of refreshments also laid on the table. He had skipped breakfast this morning in his excitement to get ready for the meeting. He thought about taking one of the delicious looking dutch cookies but figured he would wait till after the meeting had started. He sat down in one of the very expensive looking leather chairs and tired to get comfortable. Still quite nervous he anxiously awaited for the Assistant Deputy Director-General to arrive.
