Deputy-Commander of the Royal Netherlands Army Major-General Frieda Jerome would initiate an encrypted video call, once answered she would say "Good afternoon, Major-General Frieda Jerome speaking."

"Hello Major-General, thank you for your time today. I am calling in relation to the UK-NL Armoured Battlegroup that has been discussed over the past year. I am the commanding officer for 20th Armoured Brigade which will be offering initial involvement in the battle group. I am mainly calling to invite your own involved forces to an Exercise in the United Kingdom of armoured capacity. Britain will be involving 600 Soldiers from our 3rd Battalion, the Mercian Regiment into the Battlegroup and we feel using these along with your own infantry units on exercise is the best way moving forward to establish the group. This exercise would consist of our force, consisting of our 600-man battalion and your own units to carry out an assault with armoured vehicles. Is this something of interest to mark the official start of such a unit?"
