The call would be received over a private and encrypted line at the Casa Rosada, the presidents office. After some minutes of consultations with the Foreign Ministry, the call would be arranged to take place at 16.00 of the following day, with President Herrero participating.

"Good Evening, Preisdent Herrero" spoke the British Deputy Prime Minister. "Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer the call, I'll be sure not to stumble in words and waste time.
There has been a period of time where relations with Argentina and the United Kingdom have been stable, with barely any issues since our previous arrangement regarding the Falkland Islands. With that in mind, I aim to ensure that peace is consistent and would like to raise the possibilities of enhancing cooperation with Argentina and working together. But first, I'd like to know if this is something you are open to receiving?". There was a small pause. "I'd like to raise the prospect of potential trade between our countries as a starter, if possible, and as you're likely aware, we've also bought four units from Argendef, with the possibility of more defence sales outside of the UK."

Informed of not being the british PM the one on the line, the President would delegate the call to the argentine vice-president Juan Lo Giudice.

"Mr. Deputy Prime Minister, thank you for the interest in expnding the bilateral talks between our nations, which, as you mentioned, have been rather limited to specific subjects in the recent past.

Politically speaking our nations have different approaches on some of the worlds key discussions, which of course will be difficult and time consuming to solve. But we are optimistic about eventually reaching that stage. As in both private and public sectors, commerce and trade are a good entry point to open new channels of communcations and to set up bonds of trust between each other. On that regard, we welcome your interest in the product catalogue of ArgenDef.

We would love to expand this to direct trade between our nations, and can inform you that Argentina is specially looking to import commodities to feed our industry. We can on the other hand offeryou both, raw products and commodities."

"I agree, the difference between our countries politically has always meant we have been in opposition in one way or another, but differences are not always bad and I intend for our differences to be more of an opportunity. An opportunity where we can learn from one another and work towards a better future, the way we each govern give the prospect of new ideas and we're happy to hear your thoughts and get to understand them. An understanding can only lead to a positive future, right?" he rhetorically asked. "A list of potential resources we could offer, which you could review and consider, are:

1. Cars
2. Crude Petroleum
3. Organic Chemicals
4. Mechanical Machinery
5. Electrical Machinery

Is there anything in particular you'd be looking to get imported into Argentina? On the other hand, some products we would like to receive would be Lithium and Fossil Fuels; a route between Argentina and the United Kingdom could be a step closer to further trade routes in the near future, along with cooperation in security to protect that lengthy journey too."

"I understand that our main differences lie mostly due to our histories, rather than due to only contemporary circumstances. We for isntance heavily condemn vestiges of colonialism and attempts at interfering in another nations sovereign decisions. As you know, this was the sources of our most viral conflicts.

But going back to the positive agenda, we are certainly interested in trade. Specially in organic chemicals and electrical machinery to feed and expand our industries.

As for exports, our nation is today the largest lithium exporter in the world, due to our recent investments in that sector and our natural richness of that type of resource. Expanding our extracts to UK would certainly be a good business for both sides. Obviously, we could also set up tankers to provide you with fossil fuels.

Lastly, regarding security of these convoys, we have currently multiple treaties active with Brazil and Nigeria, providian support and monitoring of the the main trade routes crossing the South Atlantic."

"Speaking of history, as you know, there are aspects of the Falkland Islands that are.. untouchable, due to mine fields that have been hosted there. This is something the British Government is investigating into the possibility of the deployment of military EOD Specialists to begin a 'clean up' operation to target and remove these historic death traps.. as much as that can be moved, that is. With that in mind, if that goes ahead, which is still under consideration, there may be a slight increase in either aircraft or vessels to deploy equipment to the islands to help with such operation. It shouldn't cause you any problems, but I figure I ought to inform you of that possibility.

In the case for trade, it seems like we both know what our countries are needing. With that in mind, I presume the interval would be monthly to simply accommodate for the duration of travel between our countries anyway?

Britain also has it's own assets in the South Atlantic Region in way of Naval Ships on patrol for the Falklands and Ascension Island. We have no problem with neither Brazil or Nigeria so that isn't an issue either. Slightly edgy with Brazil given their recent breach into British Territories.. but we shall see. We remain optimistic for all UK-South American Relations."

"Thank you for the information. We will rely it to the Ministry of Defence in order to avoid any missunderstanding. We have naval units operating in the general area.

Regarding the trade proposals, I think we can settle on a monthly exchange, and if we are in agreement, we could proceed with the signing of the proper dicumentation to set up the routes.

The Government of Brazil has perhaps a different approach on certain matters, but it remains our most important ally in the region, and one of our most prominent global allies. I hope the brazilian-UK relation can get to a point of mutual understanding."

"Perfect, thank you for your understanding. Do you have a draft for the documentation regarding trade routes, or do you refer to registering on the IMTO?
I long for a mutual understanding between the UK and Brazil, and many attempts have been tried. We will continue to do so and offer no ill will to the Brazilian Government."

The correction for the ports would be adjusted, to be Portsmouth in the United Kingdom before been signed, a copy taken and sent to the Argentine Government. Marking a positive start to a trade agreement, a stepping stone for relations between the two countries which had, in recent times, become stable yet distant. "We have sent the signed agreement, and it's a pleasure to enter such treaty with yourself. I do see many benefits in it, and hope it's a stepping stone to seeing a positive relationship between the UK and Argentina. Is there any other agenda's you'd like to be brought up in the meantime?"

"On behaf of my Government, I am very happy to sign this first step into broadening our bilateral relation, and hopefully, as you say, make this the first step into more ambitious ways of cooperation. At the moment, I think this is it. I look forward to talk to you again sir."

The Republic of Argentina would sign the papers and sent one of the copies back to the UK. The buroratic process to establish the trade routes would begin.

The call was considered a success in relation to building bridges between the UK and Argentina, a fragile relationship but one that had opportunity to grow. The British Deputy Prime Minister made notes and marked himself as available. Thanking the Argentine Delegate for their time before making his farewell.
