Slightly north of the Leeds City Center, a steady cloud passed overhead of a young family waiting at some traffic lights, prepared to cross the road when the green man light turned on. Alice, 13, holding her younger brothers hand of age 6 was happily content licking an ice lolly with her free hand. With her parents beside her. A few moments passed and a quiet 'beep beep beep' repeated, indicating it was clear to go. Only a couple of cars in sight and one had stopped at the light to allow them to pass. What felt like a life time, was only a few seconds as the 'Roberts' family made it to the middle of the road, continuing their journey. Unaware that this simple crossing of the street was about to change their lives. A second later, a red Pugeot skimmed around the corner, sirens in the background as the vehicle swerved around the static car at the red light, topping speed limits as it aimed directly for the family without hesitation. The adrenaline induced father quickly dragged Alice; and by extension her brother, out of harms way but was no where near fast enough to protect their mother. Horrendous screams echoed the streets as Melisa was thrown off the road and into the nearby building. The car did nothing but carry on which then followed by roughly 6 police cars.

Without waiting, an ambulance was called with the family rushing to check the status of their Mother. Not making a sound, covered in blood and having been lunged into the building by the pressure of the vehicle hitting her. Alice and her brother, distraught and screaming at their mothers motionless body with their father occupied with dispatchers who had advised an ambulance was en-route. Tears streaming down his own eyes, knowing full well she had gone. It felt like hours but within minutes, the Ambulance was on scene to pronounce the death... the family had a lot to recover from.

...Later that night, the remaining members of the family sat in mourning when the radio confirms a police chase through Leeds had been brought to a halt.. leaving a young mum of 32, deceased.
