Early Libyan Independence & Pre Civil War
1951-1977
After the fall of Mussolini's Italy Hold in north africa in 1951 the new republic immediately had major trouble with the Italian Minority occupying its Major cities. Many political movements such as the Italiani per la libertà del Nord Africa (ILNA) Where many Italians attempted to march in the streets for greater political representation and reintegration with their mother country. Large scale protests often leading to violence such as the 1966 march leading to government forces killing several Italians in the march. This Status quo continues for several more years years Up until 1971 when Libya joins the F.A.R. Many Italians feared that with Egyptian and Syrian Support, the Italians may be driven off the beaches of Libya. So the ILNA began major Terror attacks. And with ghadaffis attempt to remove the ~30,000 Italians living in the state. The ILNA began a guerrilla campaign fighting for Italian rule, for 5 years the ILNA would stalk and kill many major Politicians eventually culminating with the assasination of Gaddafi in 1977.
The Libyan Civil War & the Libyan Federation
1977 - 2005
Upon the death of Ghadaffi in 1977 the ILNA revolts out of the city of Tobruk against a Communist faction and a Federal Government Faction. The communists manage a major victory against both the ILNA and the Government. Eventually the Government form a unitary government against the Communists in 1983 but with major soviet support. But upon the collapse of the Union in 1991 and soviet support ends for Communist Libya and they collapse in 1993. The Federation of Libya was formed in the same year. After a few more years, In the 2005 Election the ILNA wins a majority in the parliament able to run the government unopposed, leading to the LSP and the Conservative LCC and Liberal CLP walking out of the parliament and picking up arms against the ILNA. But due to swift action against the Revolters the government rapidly crushes the Rebels. But using the crisis ILNA President Francesco Messe declares martial law.
Foundation of Italian Libya & Regency
2005 - 2007
The ILNA after declaring martial law in late 2005 declares a Regency in place headed by Francesco Messe. Hoping for the return of the House of Savoy to their lands and eventual reunification with Italy under a Monarchy. With the establishment of the Socialist state in Italy, the ILNA declares that themselves are the rightful rulers of Italy. In 2006 a major revolt occurred in Tripoli leading to the deaths of 200 Libyan Peoples and the banning of several political organizations. And in the same year a libyan anarchist shot at and hit the Regent Francesco Messe leading to him being injured but ultimately surviving the shoot out.
