THE BLACK EAGLE RISES ONCE MORE!

Austria is reborn in shock government change

It was not a shock to the Austrian public, or indeed the world, when the results came in this evening marking the electoral victory of Dieter Shultz, ambitious leader of the Ruhm für Österreich. After months of campaigning, the RFO emerged victorious with enough of a majority to push the previous government out of their position. The ambitious party claims to be a 'true Austrian alternative' compared to the 'tired and worn out' parties of old. Instead, the RFO promise a return to a more traditional perspective, looking at the nation's proud past as an example of where to take the country in the future.

The newly coined Supreme Leader Shultz told reporters last week: "I have tremendous respect for our democratic system but have come to the realisation that it simply isn't working for Austria or her people anymore. Instead, I propose a complete restructuring in the way in which we organise our country, conduct our politics and structure our government. We foresee a prosperous future for a nation that deserves to prosper."

After the victory was announced, RFO members marched through the streets of Vienna towards Schönbrunn Palace. Alongside them were soldiers on horseback dressed in traditional uniform, the official vehicles of newly elected government ministers, and a marching band playing stirring songs of Austria's past. Press gathered in the courtyard of the palace, as Shultz emerged onto the balcony with a smile, accompanied by a huge cheer from the crowds below.

Here is a transcript of his speech.

"What we have done today has shown the world that we are a proud nation, not afraid to make changes and determined to honour our national identity. The people have voted in their numbers and they have voted not just for a government but for Austria herself. But now the real work begins. In a world plagued with problems, we must ensure that we show our European friends and allies that we can stand on our own two feet and contribute to Europe and the wider world. We shall open ourselves up for new and exciting trade opportunities, we shall start in the grand rebuilding of this nation and work on making this fertile land suitable for our children for generations to come. A happy, healthy and powerful Austria, honouring our past and creating our own future. Ruhm für Österreich!"
