The National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO), originally known as the National Technical Facilities Organisation (NTFO), is a highly specialised technical intelligence gathering agency. While the agency does not affect the working of technical wings of various intelligence agencies, including those of the Indian Armed Forces, it acts as a super-feeder agency for providing technical intelligence to other agencies on internal and external security. Its main areas of intelligence collection are strategic SIGINT and COMINT, SATINT, and cyberwarfare (including information warfare).

The Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) is the foreign intelligence agency of India. The agency's primary function is gathering foreign intelligence, counter-terrorism, counter-proliferation, advising Indian policymakers, and advancing India's foreign strategic interests. The R&AW's objectives include monitoring the political, military, economic and scientific developments in countries which have a direct bearing on India's national security and the formulation of its foreign policy; moulding international public opinion and influence foreign governments; Covert Operations to safeguard India's national interests; and anti-terror operations and neutralising elements posing a threat to India.

The Aviation Research Centre (ARC) is India's imagery intelligence organisation. Their roles include aerial surveillance, SIGINT operations, photo reconnaissance flights (PHOTINT), monitoring of borders, and imagery intelligence (IMINT). The aircraft jointly operated by the GIASF and ARC are fitted with state-of-the-art electronic surveillance equipment and long range cameras capable of taking pictures of targets from very high altitudes. It has 500 personnel and works closely with 11 Wing, GIASF.
The Electronics and Technical Services (ETS) is the Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) arm of India's external intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW). It has 1,000 personnel. The organisation is housed in the CGO complex in New Delhi. ETS is believed to be involved in ELINT roles, not restricted but also includes jamming and spoofing - Electronic Warfare (EW). ETS also involved in Electronic Surveillance Measures (ESMs), Telemetry (TELINT), tracking and the monitoring of data links, interception and monitoring of navigation signals and other ELINT and EW methods.
