INTERNATIONAL AWARD OF CONTRACT RE:
EXPANSION OF THE GREEK MERCHANT MARINE

With the present invitation the Greek government wishes to make it known to any interested party, either public or private, that an international award of contract procedure is declared according to the referendum result of October 1st, 2001, that ratified the Citizen’s Assembly Proposal of September 7th, 2001, with protocol no 1549.88, regarding the expansion of the Greek merchant marine. The Greek people have decided and hereby ask for offers for the following products: Tankers, Container feeders, Freighters, Liquified Gas Carriers. According to the Budgetary meeting of the Citizen’s Assembly, as ratified by the aforementioned referendum, the budgetary limit for the offer is set to 1B drachmas. The Greek People reserve the right to deliberate and decide to break down the contract to multiple bidders, based on the merits of the offers received. Any interested party is directed to contact the Greek Minister of Shipping and Trade, Mr. Xenophon Gallos, either through the incumbent Greek embassy in the bidder’s country, or via the contact information provided in the instructions on the opposite side of this document.​
