CALLS TO RELAX ALCOHOL LAWS FINALLY ENTERS DEBATE

The recent petition to relax the Alcohol Laws in the Islamic State of Iran has today been accepted and a full debate will now be held in the Islamic Consultative Assembly. The repeal is opposed by the strict Islamic community with some asking for only a partial repeal. This debate is expected to be held in the next few days, with a vote to be called the week after. With coming nationwide elections, this for the ruling Iranian Democratic Union Party will give a good indication of their chances if the laws are changed and are successful.
