Dear Treasurer Wayne Swan,
I am writing to you today as the newly appointed Minister of Finance here in the State of Israel to ask for a $5 billion dollar loan which will be paid back in the coming months. The previous government had dissolved the Israel Defence Force so it has now been left to the new Labor government headed by Merav Michaeli to rebuild our country and its security services. As you know, Israel is in one of the most hostile areas in the world as we suffer threats from Hamas in Gaza, terrorist organisations in the West Bank and from Syria and Iran. We are calling on our Australian friends to help us out as we have stood side to side in helping and protecting those in need. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
