OPERATION DEAD MONEY

TOP SECRET
EYES ONLY

The Objectives, as laid out by High Command:
  • Locate local leaders for French Communist and Anarchist cells in Provence-Alpes and Rhone-Alpes
  • Assess the possibility of decapitation-type strikes against these cells by direct-action personnel.

MAP

Deployment List

  • Provisional Fireteam Bravo, 9th Paratroopers Assault Regiment 4x Special Reconnaissance Special Operators
  • Provisional Support Detachment Zulu, 161st Special Operations Aviation Group "Night Hawks" 2x Pilots, 1x MH-60G Pave Hawk

The Special Operators assigned would be briefed on their objectives and their mission, and it would be made clear to them that this was a deep cover mission - many of their standard procedures were to be disregarded in favor of keeping their cover at any cost. These particular 4 men were chosen because they were born in Piemonte, meaning they spoke Franco-Provencal (as a home language) and French (as a second language,) making it easier for them to blend in while traveling through the border regions. They were dressed in civilian clothes (and carried a couple changes worth of clothes - to sell the cover, did not carry any identification or dog tags, and were outfitted as follows (names below are, obviously, Pseudonyms). Once they were outfitted, packed, and briefed, they would board the MH-60G Pave Hawk.

With the action in France reaching a tipping point, the Regio Escercito would send the Go-ahead to the reconnaissance team. The MH-60 would take off, at the dead of night, from Turin Airport with the 4 Operators on Board. En route to their drop zone (about 10 KM west of Lyon, in the foothills of the alps), they were briefed on their mission and would review their covers. They're a group of backpackers who'd spent the last few weeks backpacking the Alps and were returning to Lyon, where they wanted to catch some transport to Marseille. Their mission would entail spending 2-3 days gathering intelligence from Lyon before hitchhiking to Marseille, which, as a major port city and as the largest city in the Alpine regions of France, would be the optimal place for a military government.

En Route, the MH-60 would fly "Nap of the Earth" using FLIR, Night Vision, and GPWR to keep from flying into a mountainside or a French Air Defense battery. The helicopter would use the alps as cover to avoid being pinged on French Radar, and would also attempt to avoid population centers. The team would make sure their weapons were sufficiently concealed, and everything else was secured into their backpacks, as they continued the journey towards their drop zone.

The MH-60s would be called back with the Reconnaissance troops on board with the rise of a full-fledged French communist revolution.

Operation Dead Money was canceled indefinitely.
