Dear Secretary Perry,
We greet you warmly with the hope of growing our bilateral relations. We know that the Department of State is meeting with our ambassador discussing other matters but I wanted to direct this matter to your attention specifically. The State of Japan is interested in making several large defense purchases from the United States. We see the United States as close allies of the State of Japan and we hope to establish through our diplomatic talks more formal alliances that are binding now. We are seeking to purchase modern, up-to-date and effective Naval, air, and ground military assets. Our military planners have identified the following gaps in our forces and possible American made solutions.
All of these assets were formally listed for sale in the United States Defense Sales at these prices, however, we are unsure of the current pricing as this store has been temporarily shuttered.
