The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) is the state news agency of North Korea that was established on December 5, 1946.

The agency portrays the views of the North Korean government for foreign consumption.

Military conscription coming to an end 끝나는 군사 징병 ​ The supreme leader Kim Jong-il announced that he will remove the military conscription so the KPA becomes an all-voluntary army. Kim Jong-il is currently restructuring and modernizing the PKA. Having military conscription doesn't fit in the 'new' KPA, as history tells us that only having the numbers in a war won't make you win the war. 김정일 최고 지도자는 군부대를 제거하여 KPA가 자발적인 군대가 될 것이라고 발표했다. 김정일은 현재 PKA를 재구성하고 현대화하고있다. 역사에 따르면 전쟁에 숫자 만 있다고해서 전쟁에서 이길 수는 없다고 군사적 징집을 갖는 것은 '새로운'KPA에 맞지 않습니다.

PKA's Research Center completed PKA 리서치 센터 준공 The supreme leader Kim Jong-il has spent 450 billion KPW in the construction of a new military research center. Kim Jong-il announced months ago that he will restructure and modernize the KPA. With the new research center completed Kim Jong-il hopes to research new and better military equipment, vehicles, vessels, and missile defenses. 김정일 최고 지도자는 새로운 군사 연구소 건설에 450 억 KPW를 소비했다. 김정일은 몇 달 전 KPA의 구조 조정과 현대화를 발표했다. 김정일은 새로운 연구 센터를 완성하면서 새롭고 더 나은 군사 장비, 차량, 선박 및 미사일 방어를 연구하고자합니다.​
