"It is with a heavy heart, that I would adress this to my people. Due to the amassing of Iraqi forces on our borders, as confirmed by multiple sources, paired with supposed acts of aggression on international embassies, as well as terrorist bombings on, coincidentally, the former Coalition countries, Kuwait shall stand up and fight. We have stood the test of time during the Gulf War of 1991, many have died under Iraqi hands. Children, Mothers, Fathers, Civilians, and Soldiers. The Kuwaiti people enslaved by their ruthless dictator. Families broken due to their bullets, their shells, their armies.
Kuwait shall no longer stand around and do nothing. Kuwait shall no longer fall within 48 hours. We shall stand up and fight. We shall bring our guns to defend our country, our nation... our people. As for that, I, along with the rest of the Military council, have decided, that due to the abhorrent acts of aggression shown by the Iraqi government, and in a vain attempt to prevent any more unnecessary deaths of our people, Kuwait will be mobilizing to defend our homeland. As we speak today, our brave and loyal forces have entrenched themselves in areas around the city, and the country, in order to protect our people at all costs.
Our Air Force, after being notified of possible Al-Hussein Missiles, which we have seen action against the civilian populace, have sought to neutralize them if Iraq fails to reconsider their deployment. I am calling out to the Iraqi government (@HeadlessSeeker) to stand down and to request for the immediate withdrawal of troops, vehicles, and weapon systems at the border. If they do not respond within 24 hours, then, it is a heavy heart that I would announce that Kuwait...
declares preemptive war.
As such, I would call to the countries of the world, who are in good faith with Kuwait, stand with us in our fight against oppression. I would call for the immediate extraction of your embassies here in Kuwait, for due to our small armed forces, we cannot guarantee the safety of your diplomatic missions. We are sorry, but in order to prevent a repeat of previous events, then we must do what we can do.
Within the next few days, our proud Kuwait Police force would guide you, my people, for your evacuation out of the major population centers. Please cooperate as much as possible. Remember that this is for your safety, which I, as Emir, am responsible. We have agreed into terms with the Saudi Arabian government, so most of you may take refuge there. Flights that are coming and going out of Kuwait city will be cancelled in 2 weeks. After careful consideration, we have also ordered Martial Law, which will be in effect in a week from now.
To all our soldiers at the field, may God help them today."
Waves of journalists flock to the Emir as he stands up and walks out, accompanied by his usual security escort. Flashes of the cameras fill the screen as if there was a lightning storm. What does this mean? Would Kuwait see the repeat of the events that had take place almost 5 years ago? Would people, once again, die for this pointless affection, for this show of sovereignty? The country remains divided....
Although, many agree that in these moments, it's just the calm before the storm.
