Minister Vinter,

It is with true pleasure that we see the return of a stable government to the Kingdom of Norway and we wishes to congratulate yourself and your government on it's recent electoral victory. My government hopes it can build the foundation for a long-lasting friendship between our nations and we see plenty of opportunities for us to cooperate. If possible I wish to schedule a meeting between the Dutch Ambassador to Norway and yourself or a representative in order to discuss a range of topics.

Yours Sincerely,

Maximiliaan Theunissen
Minister of Foreign Affairs

Minister Theunissen,

It is a pleasure to hear from you. I was actually working on a message to your office when I noticed this one in my inbox. His Majesty's newest government is excited to begin working on bettering Norway in many shapes and forms. I congratulate you on your recent elections as well. I appreciate your offer for a meeting between your ambassador and myself, and I will be happy to oblige it, however I have a counter-offer.

The Storting recently passed legislation which says that members of the Royal Family, including His Majesty The King as well as the Crown Prince, may take part in diplomatic affairs with the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Crown Prince Enoch has recently returned from his military duties, and is in Oslo. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, could we perhaps arrange a meeting in The Netherlands between Crown Prince Enoch, myself, Crown Prince Willem-Alexander, and yourself? This is not something that would be usually offered to any nation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a strong conviction that The Netherlands could prove to be a core continental-friend of Norway, and perhaps the rest of Scandinavia.
I look forward to your response.

Best Regards,

Anthony Vinter

Minister Vinter,

I am pleased to hear that you as well aimed to take the initiative in initiating diplomatic relations between our two nations. I thank you for presenting this counter-offer and we would be honoured to welcome yourself and Crown Price Enoch to the Netherlands for a working visit. As Crown Prince Willem-Alexander is not tasked with any governmental duties I cannot ask him to be present at our meeting, however I could request for a seperate meeting, prior to or after our meeting, to be held between your delegation and the Crown Prince if you wish?

Yours Sincerely,

Maximiliaan Theunissen

Minister Theunissen,

A meeting between the Crown Prince Enoch and Crown Prince Willem-Alexander after our diplomatic meeting would be appropriate. Thank you for accommodating our request. I look forward to getting to know you and establishing strong relations between our two countries. We will be departing tomorrow morning. Please feel free to message me if you have any other questions.

Minister Vinter,

Arrangements shall be made for your arrival, please be sure to arrive at Rotterdam The Hague Airport. If a security detail will be present we request that they be unarmed or willing to have their firearms registered, I hope you understand our actions as this is to act as a preventative measure for their use in criminal activities.

I eagerly await your arrival.

Yours Sincerely,

Minister Theunissen,

The Royal Police Escort will be accompanying us, along with our standard diplomatic police. As I'm sure you do as well, the Kingdom of Norway takes the security of its Royal Family very seriously. The diplomatic agents will hand over their firearms, however the Royal Police Escort will oblige to having them registered, and kept on their persons. These actions are understandable, no offense is taken.

Best Regards,

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through lower channels, privately contacted the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs to confirm that a recent VISA application made by a Norwegian citizen named "Sophia Anker" would be accompanying the up-coming visit. The message requested that the Foreign Ministry expedite the VISA since the trip would be taking place the next day. They apologized for any inconvenience.

Lady Sophia showed up at the airport just in time to make the flight with the diplomatic entourage to The Netherlands. Crown Prince Enoch, Sophia, Minister Vinter, his staff, diplomatic security, and the Royal Police Escort departed from Oslo's international airport on a privately chartered airplane after privately informing the Dutch that they were on their way. It was in the morning, but not too early. They were posed to land in The Netherlands at approximately 9:45 A.M. The aircraft took off and took standard passenger routes to The Netherlands. The aircraft then requested to land at the designated Dutch airport, and followed the directions given by the air traffic control. Once they landed, and were permitted to depart, the Royal Police Escort first did so to ensure that the area was safe, followed by the Foreign Minister's staff and Sophia, the Foreign Minister, and then Prince Enoch.

Diplomatic Security handed their firearms over to the Dutch, while the Royal Police Escort allowed their weapons to be registered. Although there were a number of people in the Norwegian party, Enoch could not be mistaken. The seven-foot (~213cm) man stood out even among his reasonably tall Norwegian counterparts, and possibly even among the already tall Dutch. While Enoch suffered from incredible height, he at least didn't suffer from the outrageous height of his father. The Prince appeared to be happy - as much as a Norwegian could be - or at least interested to be in The Netherlands, but any long-time observer of him would eventually notice him wince in some momentary bit of pain that he would quickly recover from. His suit was conservatively black, and certainly tailored specifically for his size, and his tie was mostly red, with repeating white and blue stripes which together expressed the national colors on the flag of Norway.

Despite the fact that Enoch was in the military, he was permitted to have a longer haircut sense it was considered a privilege of special operations forces. It actually wasn't long, however. He kept it at the perfect length so that it could easily fit inside a helmet, but also be combed and look professional for occasions such as this. The only jewelry he was wearing was a solid gold ring on his right hand, which he received at the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy. While Enoch appeared to be more regal and stoic - in classic Norwegian tradition - Minister Vinter appeared to have a slightly warmer demeanor at first glance. Perhaps that was why he was Norway's chief diplomat, or perhaps he was conditioned to be that way. Sophia offered her passport and VISA to the immigration services at the airport, and remained with the diplomatic staff. Enoch offered for her to stand with him while they were still on the aircraft, but Minister Vinter advised against it. She quietly watched from the sidelines, and was wearing a conservative dark blue dress. She was tall as well, but was a full foot shorter than Enoch.

The Norwegian aircraft would be safely guided through Dutch airspace by air traffic controllers. Upon landing at Rotterdam The Hague Airport the aircraft was led a stand secured by the 2 BSB Peleton of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. The airport was still on heightened security due to the previous arrival of a British diplomatic delegation, who's aircraft the Norwegians would be able to spot at the neighboring stand.

A stairway would be attached to the aircraft to let the passengers disembark. At the bottom of the stairway the Minister of Foreign Affairs would be waiting alongside Captain Lodewijk Rooijakker for the Norwegian delegation to disembark. As the towering Enoch made his way towards the two, Minister Theunissen bowed in respect before extending his hand to greet the foreign prince. "Crown Prince, Minister Vinter, I am Minister Theunissen and it is an honour to welcome you to the Netherlands." He turned slightly towards to his right, "I wish to introduce you to Captain Lodewijk Rooijakker, Queen's Adjudant." Captain Rooijakker saluted the Crown Prince, "On behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, we welcome you to our small nation."

Enoch appeared to make his way down the foreign staircase gracefully, but really he was just being exceptionally careful. He stepped aside Minister Vinter and cracked a small smile to Minister Theunissen and Captain Rooijakker. It had always felt strange to be bowed to after returning from duty.

"It's an honor for us to be here," Enoch said to the two. "I hope that you send our best regards to Her Majesty." Enoch's English was rarely flawed, but it did however have a wonderful Trondheim-Oslo-Norwegian accent complimenting it. He was so well-trained at speaking the language, though, that it wouldn't be a challenge for someone of just decent knowledge of the language to understand him.

Enoch first offered his hand to Captain Rooijakker to shake, and then to Minister Theunissen. Minister Anthony Vinter took the lead of the Prince and nodded to the two Dutchmen, "It's a pleasure to be here, thank you for taking the time to meet us."

While Anthony took his time to introduce himself and send the best wishes of the Prime Minister, Enoch glanced over to the diplomatic staff to see if he could find Sophia. It took only a second to find her among the staff, standing near the front in her blue dress with her hair picking up in the wind of the open airport. Vinter resisted the urge to elbow the Crown Prince, and said, "Are you ready to go, Your Royal Highness?"

Enoch turned his head back to face the other men, "Yes, of course. I've just never been to The Netherlands. It seems very peaceful here... Please, lead the way."
Despite what he said, Vinter made sure that Enoch walked in front of him while they were out in public. The two men waited for the direction of the Dutch. The Foreign Ministry's staff and the guards would find their way to whatever meeting place they were going to, as well.

The Minister turned his body and with his hand he gestured to the convoy of waiting vehicles, where officers from the 2 BSB held the doors of the three center vehicles, the Dutch Minister and Royal Adjudant being placed in the lead of the vehicle with the Norwegian Royal and Minister being placed in the second vehicle, while the rest of the Norwegian delegation would be placed in the third vehicle. The Norwegian security personnel would be spread over the remaining vehicles along with officers from the 2 BSB.

The convoy, escorted by the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee and supported by the traffic division from the National Police, would head towards Palace Noordeinde where a guard of honour. Upon arrival the vehicle doors would be held open for the Norwegian delegation to disembark where a guard of honour, consisting of the 2nd Ceremonielegarde of the Royal Netherlands Guard, would be ready for inspection by the Norwegian royal.

After the inspection had been completed the delegation would be led inside the palace to a conference room which had been readied for the meeting. Once everyone had been seated in their place, Captain Rooijakker asks "can I offer you anything to drink?"

Enoch occasionally winced as walked by and inspected the Royal Netherlands Guard. Once he made it to the end of the line, he gave a slight nod to the officer in charge and moved along with the rest of the party. Enoch sighed when he saw the vehicles, and did his best to fit inside of it with the rest of his delegation following suit. Enoch winced again when they sat down, but it was rather unnoticeable.

"I would like a glass of water, if you don't mind," Enoch requested.

While Enoch's water was fetched, Minister Vinter spoke up. "Thank you again for hosting us, today. As I said in my message, I think that a relationship between the kingdoms of Norway and The Netherlands would be very beneficial to both of our countries. Our country's bond to our Scandinavian brothers is very strong, and growing, however I think it would be vital for us to have a connection to the rest of Europe - a close friend in the south - and I personally believe The Netherlands takes the cake, so to speak. I trust that the situation here in The Netherlands is going well?"

Vinter momentarily looked around at the nice room and said, "Fitting in to your new government quarters?"

A glass of water would be immediately provided and placed in front of the Crown Prince by the royal staff.

Minister Theunissen chucles in response, "I could only wish this was my office, however we have Captain Rooijakker to thank for this location." "The Queen was most honoured to be able to host this meeting in the palace," Rooijakker says with a nod.
"We are honoured to be your foothold with continental Europe. The Netherlands is eager to expand its diplomatic network, we have already established positive diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Sweden and are pleased to lay a positive foundation with the Kingdom of Norway. We've also been informed by Sweden of the foundation of the Nordic Council and are hopeful to start a cooperative relationship with the organisation," Theunissen said in response to the Ministers statement.

Damn Swedes whoring themselves out to the world, Vinter thought.
"Ah yes, the Swedish are quite diplomatic. They are lucky to have us as an ally," the Minister said.

"I think you mean we're lucky to have them as an ally, Minister?" Enoch chimed in.
"Yes, yes, quite right," Vinter replied casually, "perhaps I should brush up on my English a bit more.. Anyway, yes. Once the Nordic Council is in a fully-operational state, I think it will be a strong organization in many rights, including trade. I'm sure we'll be able to put in a good word for you when that time comes. I hope this isn't a bit rushed, but I think a strong sign of opening relations would be establishing a system of VISA-upon-arrival for both of our countries. Would the Dutch government be open to considering this? I've also spoken to the Minister of Defense, who is interested in possibly having our Royal Marines conducting exercises with your forces in the Caribbean, as well as some of our other forces. In return, we'd be happy to host some intense winter-based exercises in the mountains or the North of Norway. These are just ideas, at the moment, but on the list of things that would benefit us both, I think these fall at the top.
Have you spoken with the English, or the French recently?"

"Yes, I had a rather positive conversation with their ambassador and I believe we have managed to kickoff an encouraging working relationship."

"I believe a visa-upon-arrival agreement can be arranged, is there any chance you've got a draft agreement you could put forward?," the Minister asks in response to the proposal.

The Minister jots down the notes on a nearby notepad, "I'll pass on your request and offer to the Minister of Defence, I won't be able to say anything substantial in matters regarding defence, though I am certain we'd be eager to participate in joint training exercises."

The Prime Minister is currently in meeting the British Prime Minister, you might have noticed his aircraft standing next to your own. In regards to the French we've had a rocky start, though we are attempting to set up a meeting."

"Ah yes, you are quite busy here in The Netherlands today. This is a resolution we've made. I admit it's rather concise, but we prefer things to be concise in Norway, when possible," Vinter said as he pushed a piece of paper to the Dutch Foreign Minister which explained in splendid excellence the agreement between Norway and The Netherlands. It specified that VISAs can be issued upon arrival to citizens of The Netherlands and Norway travelling to each other's countries. Both countries were still allowed to deny a VISA for any reason, of course. Ironically, it would now be easier to get a regular VISA, rather than a diplomatic VISA.

"I think we've made exceptional progress today. What do you think?" Vinter asked.
Enoch sipped from his water and politely nodded. He was on the verge of breaking a sweat.

"I'll forward your visa proposal to the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Justice and Security, who are responsible for the Dutch visa program. They will then have to prepare a draft bill to present to parliament, though I am sure it will have no trouble passing, it will merely be a matter of time."

"Yes, I believe we've had an exceptional start."

"Outstanding," Vinter said. "I do hope that you bring that proposal of joint exercises to your Defense Ministry, and the Minister-President. There are one or two more things I thought I'd propose, but it has been quite rude of me to take the floor, especially when you initiated this meeting. Do you have anything to propose?"

"Yes, I'll ensure they are made aware at the conclusion of this meeting. I did want to bring up the fact the Netherlands will be introducing a bill soon to parliament aiming to limit the import of weaponry to embassies within the Netherlands. Therefore we'd like to request that if the Kingdom of Norway maintains firearms or other types of lethal weaponry that they be recalled. Though, in order to maintain security we station a security detail provided by the Diplomatic Security Service of the National Police. This security detail can be increased at your request or a deployment by the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee can be arranged."

"I wouldn't begin to tell the Dutch Parliament what laws they should and should not pass, but nations have been able to protect their diplomatic outposts with lethal weapons since the time of the Romans... Is there a particular reason that this change is being made?" Vinter asked.
