To: Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Russian Federation Cc: Subject: Foreign Relations Dear Sir/Madam, As I have the time, it would be an honour to meet you in person. I will make my way to your Ministry immediately. I await your reply. Yours Sincerely, Miep Aldershof Dutch Ambassador to the Russian Federation Kingdom of the Netherlands Ambassador Miep Aldershof would pack her bag with some essential documents before calling security and ordering a diplomatic car. She would be driven by a Diplomatic Security Officer to the headquarters of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow. Arriving at the building she would walk to the reception and introduce herself, informing the receptionist that she had a meeting with the First Deputy Foreign Minister.

 

[Andy]

With the notice of the Dutch Ambassador arriving shortly, the First Deputy Foreign Minister would organise an Armed Escort of agents from the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSS) which would join enroute to the Foreign Ministry. Andrei Denisov would wait downstairs for the vehicle to arrive, once it has arrived Andrei would walk down the steps and open the door for the Dutch Ambassador before leading the way to his office.

"Minister, it is a true pleasure to meet you" Ambassador Aldershof would say as she greeted the First Deputy Foreign Minister. She would follow him as he led the way to his office. "I can only thank you that you were able to organise this meeting at such short notice."

 

[Andy]

"The pleasure is all mine Ambassador" he'd pause leading the way into his office, he'd gesture for the Ambassador to take a seat "Is there anything I can get you?"

 

[Dutchy]

The Ambassador would take her place in the chair that the Deputy had gestured too. "A simple glass of water will suffice" she would say. "I am simply eager to start our conversation."

"I would like to start with congratulating your governments rise to power. While the Netherlands has lacked any kind of formal relations with the short-lived previous governments, we are certain that yours will be a stable and prosperious one. Which is why I was tasked with reaching out to you. Russia is a diplomatic and military superpower, a nation who we would like to develop a positive and mutually beneficial relationship with. While I can only negotiate on behalf of my government, I am certain that the Dutch industrial sector will be interested in investing in your nation."

 

[Andy]

An aide would bring a in a judge of water with two glasses filled with ice, the Deputy Minister would pour two glasses, handing one to the Dutch Ambassador "Lets start!" he'd pause before continuing "Thank you for the congratulations, I shall pass these on to the President and the rest of the administration. I do believe it will be beneficial not just for our nations but the whole of Europe itself if we were able to develop a positive and mutually beneficial relationship! I do understand previous administrations were rocky ones, some that have made some serious errors in the globe however we won't do the same. I am glad you reached out to us! That is good to hear, we haven't had many industrial sectors look into investing within Russia itself minus our own!"

 

[Dutchy]

"While of course we retain certain influence over the sector, in the end it will be up to them if they decide to make certain investments." The Ambassador would take a sip of the fresh water before continuing "I would like to suggest the signing of a Fair-Trade Agreement between our two nations. What this means is that the trade between our nations becomes fair and hopefully free, we will set similar tariffs, this could be 20% or 0% that's up to us to decide."

"Please take a look." She would take a document out of her briefcase and hand it to the Minister.

 

[Andy]

The Minister would sign and slide back the Free Trade Agreement to the Dutch Ambassador "That all seems perfectly well to me! Yes, hopefully a Free Trade between our nations can boost our economy and the likes!"

 

[Dutchy]

The Ambassador would let out a chuckle "I am glad to see you are eager to sign this agreement, but we must still negotiate a mutual tariff on our export products. If your government is willing to lower it to 0%, then my government is willing to do the same." She would take a sip of her water, giving the Minister time to think it over.

 

[Andy]

"I believe a 0% tariff is doable between Russia and the Netherlands!" The Deputy Minister would take a sip of his drink before taking notes of such happening.

 

[Dutchy]

"Then zero it shall be" she would say as she took a pen out of her suit pocket and neatly wrote a 0. Since the Minister had already signed the Ambassador would place her own signature in the dotted line. She would take a second copy out of her briefcase and to the same, before handing it over to the Russian Minister to sign. "This will be your copy, I'll have the original sent back to the Hague for archiving. My government shall immediately begin work on decreasing the tariff rate between our nations."

"Now, as with any new government, we are interested in hearing your governments plans for the future. What goals are you trying to reach?"

 

[Andy]

The minister would sign the second copy and place this on the side for filing with a note attached for the Commerce Ministry. The minister nodded in agreement before speaking "Plans can only work if everyone cooperates freely. Although our goals would be to commence relations with nations across the globe including those in Europe. Russia is seen as a power house within the globe and this can only be achieved by effective political support for nations and even an organized Armed Forces!"

 

[Dutchy]

"We are glad to hear that Russia is already finding her footing on the international stage by initiating diplomatic contact with the nations of the world. I must say that we will be keeping a close eye on your governments actions, as previous ones have instigated instability on the European continent. One thing my government is trying to avoid" the Ambassador would say with full honesty.

"We have been working hard to increase stability and prosperity for European nations, especially with the formation of the European Treaty Organisation. Could I ask for your governments stance towards the organisation?"

 

[Andy]

"In my honest opinion it is a key organization to help keep peace within the European region. We won't be destabilizing the European Region unless the the defence of Europe is needed!"

 

[Dutchy]

"While conflicts on the European continent can arise, we sincerly hope that they can be solved through dialogue instead of by the sword. No more blood should be spilled on our continent, we have seen too much in the last decade. It should now be the time for peace and prosperity, with European nations becoming more connected."

"My government hopes to see an increase in partnership between the ETO and the Russian Federation."

 

[Andy]

“I’m sure something can come to an arrangement regarding the ETO and Russia!”

 

[Dutchy]

"I'm certain there are endless posibilites, but that is something that I will leave to the President of the European Treaty Organisaion and my Minister-President."

"Now, I have touched the topics I wanted to speak about, at least those which are essential to be spoken about at a first meeting. Is there anything else you would like to discuss" the ambassador would ask before taking a sip of her water.
