The Netherlands has been shaken by the unrest in Belgium, and especially shocked by your illegal detention. Due to the close ties between the Dutch and Belgian monarchies I have been asked, on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen of the Netherlands, to offer you and your family political asylum in the Netherlands in order to guarantee your safety if you so request. This offer does not need to be accepted immediately, and will remain available to you in times of need. In the event that you require a quick safe house, our embassy in Brussels or our consulate in Liege will be able to house you until we can safely extract yourself and your family to the Netherlands.
