Minister,

I have recently received reports that multiple embassies within the capital are currently being blockaded by elements of the police force. This comes as a great concern to myself and my government as such actions could threaten the important diplomatic work embassy's conduct on a daily basis, not only serving our expat citizens, but also serving as the main hub for diplomatic cooperation between our two nations.

I'm hoping you can offer me guarantees regarding the integrity and the freedom of the diplomatic mission of the Netherlands in Harare to continue its work.

Yours Sincerely,

Keano Brandt
Ambassador to Rhodesia

Dear sir,

Your concerns are noted, but unfounded. The actions being taken against Australia, Belgium, Brazil, and France, are acts of self-defence being done due to their attempts to ferment unrest and division within Zimbabwe. Their acts of aggression will not be taken lightly, which is why we are acting. Their cries of foul-play are merely attempts to cow Zimbabwe into submission through appealing to how we might look internationally. This is a domestic matter, and allowing ourselves to be bullied by foreign nations is a dereliction of our duty to the citizens of the nation.

You have my personal guarantee that you, and the Dutch delegation, will not be subjected to any inconvenience as long as no attempt is made to influence Zimbabwean internal affairs.

Best wishes,
Isaak Stanislaus Gorerazvo Mudenge,
Zimbabwean Minister of Foreign Affairs
