Dear Director-General Hellström,

I am contacting your office today to inquire into the possibility of the acquisition of two Saab 340 AEW&C aircraft for the Royal Netherlands Air Force in order to supplement its capabilities of protecting our airspace and the airspace of our partners and allies. After careful review this aircraft seems most suitable for our needs and hence I have authorisation to bypass the regular procurement tender and launch direct inquiries with the Kingdom of Sweden.
