"Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

It has come to my attention that Sweden has decided to embark on a, let's say, ambitious? plan to claim the entirety of Antarctica. While we admire your ambition, we can't help but hold concern that your claim now overlaps our small claim which we call the "Ross Dependency". New Zealand Scientists operate regularly out of this area from Scott Base and we want to have assurances from the Swedish Government that your claims remain as they are, just claims. We do not want to see a build-up of military forces in Antarctica. This would threaten the fragile ecosystem and the scientific work which numerous countries conduct down there. We want a mutual assurance of keeping Antarctica conflict-free and the only military we see down there are assisting the valuable work of our scientists.

Yours Sincerely,
The Right Honourable Helen Clark,
Prime Minister of New Zealand."

Being as this was not made private nor encrypted, it's assumed that it was released via a public measure, and as such, the French Office of the Royal Chancellor would make note of the claims made by New Zealand that the Swedes have claimed all of the Antarctic, which likewise would interfere with France's traditional and rightful claim over Adelie land. As Such, the Royal Chancellor and his immediate subordinates would begin drafting their own response to this aggressive claim over the desolate continent.

Dear Helen Clark (Prime Minister of New Zealand),

First and foremost, thank you for your correspondence and I must congratulate you in your appointment as Prime Minister of New Zealand. Whilst isolated in continent, we have seen many governments come and go, some of which have almost certainly made a stamp internationally; I hope to see your government flourish and expand in the years to come.

The Kingdom of Sweden has for many years held territorial claim over the entirety of Antarctica, excluding Queen Maud Land, and as a result is recognised as the Swedish Antarctic Territory. This has remained undisputed internationally.

In the last few months the Nordic Council has passed the Allemannsrett Area arrangements, developing a uniform visa system across all Nordic territories, including those oversea. Whilst we welcome New Zealand scientists to continue their essential research in Antarctica they are subject to the procedures in place to ensure they are legally within Swedish borders otherwise they could well see fixed penalties as detailed in the aforementioned arrangements. I am reassured that your concerns regarding the ecosystem and the scientific work which is conducted continent-wide remains unaffected by our presence in the region and the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat, the agency responsible for the governance and welfare of the region, was the first of its kind to be operational in the modern era. We are well-versed in this kind of climate, as you would expect from an Arctic state.

I encourage you to follow Swedish law in order to do your part to protect the precious continent.

Regards,
Stefan Löfven
Prime Minister of Sweden
Executive Office of the Prime Minister

The announcement of French response to the New Zealand message is immediately flagged, via encrypted communication systems, to the Swedish Security and Intelligence Community on the basis that it too was not privately drafted and presumed to be public knowledge. The Swedish Department of Foreign Affairs are also privately notified of the raising interest in the Swedish Antarctic Territory prompting an immediate response, without undue delay, to prevent any risk of unnecessary escalation.

This intelligence is also flagged on internal systems to NORSCOM.

The Prime Minister would secretly scoff at the notion of Antarctica New Zealand workers having to apply for a Swedish visa to operate in Antarctica, she would politely delete the email and finish correspondence.
