Raymond Villeneuve. That was a name that carried some meaning within the government of Canada and even more so within the armed forces. Arrested back in the 1970s for treason relating to his actions with the FLQ and the October Crisis: a terrorist, a thief, and a kidnapper - Villeneuve did not finish his prison sentence until the early 90s. Even then, as a domestic terrorist who nearly created a civil war within Canada, Villeneuve had been left under constant watch by the Canadian government, even more so once the Nationalist Party had been voted into the government. He was watched twenty-four hours of the day, every day of the week, all of his online activity was watched and his phones were tapped, he had a curfew and wasn’t allowed to leave the province of Quebec. He may no longer have had barbed wire surrounding him, but he was still very much a prisoner.

Which was no surprise that when someone from an organization named the Oriflamme Society contacted the terrorist, the government knew of everything they spoke. After all, they had access to Villeneuve’s email accounts. Whatever or whoever this Society was, they were arming Quebecois terrorists and that left no questions that whomever they were - they had just declared war on Canada. Five thousand assault rifles, five hundred sniper rifles, five thousand five hundred pistols - all French in origin. Canada could guess who was behind this Society, but first the most important thing was to secure these weapons, apprehend Villeneuve, and dismantle his newly formed paramilitary.

The highly secretive special operation units of the Joint Task Force 2 have been contacted and ordered to complete these objectives. The 1st Counter-Terrorism Unit was tasked with the objectives of locating the weapon shipment, apprehending Raymond Villeneuve and interrogating him. The 2nd Counter-Terrorism Unit was tasked with the objectives of securing Villeneuve’s home and gathering his computer and any other useful information and dismantling the newly formed Quebecois paramilitary.

Traveling via plane from their base in Dwyer Hill, both units staying within the FN grid, the 1st Unit would travel to CFB Valcartier and the 2nd Unit would travel to CFB St. Hubert. It would take each unit roughly an hour and a half to arrive at their destinations where the Canadian Army would have various forms of vehicles awaiting them for their objectives.

Using civilian regional airliners to transport themselves from the international airport in Ottawa to their destinations, the 1st Counter-Terrorism Unit would arrive in CFB Valcartier and the 2nd Counter-Terrorism Unit would arrive in CFB St. Hubert. Sixteen M1117 armored patrol vehicles would be awaiting the 1st Counter-Terrorism Unit and seven M1117s and one M2A2 Bradley IFV would be awaiting the 2nd Counter-Terrorism Unit. Each of the one hundred and twenty JTF2 would leave the planes and assure that all of their equipment had been removed from the aircraft before preparing themselves with their uniforms, body armor, firearms, ammunition, and their various other equipment before entering the vehicles that had been given to them by the Canadian Army.

The 1st Counter-Terrorism Unit would have their destination: Port of Quebec. They would depart with full supplies and fuel from CFB Valcartier, using back roads and doing their best to remain as secretive as possible. It would take them roughly an hour to get to their destination. They would also use the opportunity that the night gave them to assure the element of surprise.

The 2nd Counter-Terrorism Unit would have their destination: Villeneuve's home. The man had purchased a home a few years ago located at 379 Rue Principale in Sainte-Julie, Quebec. The personnel would do the same as the 1st Unit and would depart under the cover of night from CFB St. Hubert to their destination. Similar to the 1st Unit, it would take them roughly an hour to arrive at their destination.

Secret
The 1st Counter-Terrorism Unit would arrive at their destination of Port of Quebec. With Villeneuve being continuously watched, they would have found themselves a small warehouse to store their vehicles in and separate into four teams of twenty in the south, west, east, and north sides of the port to await the arrival of Villeneuve and whoever else were in the vehicle with him.

It only took slightly over half an hour before the vehicle that had been tagged as Villeneuve’s would arrive at the port. The gate would slide open and it would park itself in front of a large warehouse. Four men exited from the vehicle, three of them were unknown but the fourth was Raymond Villeneuve himself. One was signaled to remain by the vehicle while the other three would enter the building.

The commander of the 1st Unit would signal the teams via walkie-talkie. “Bang sticks out, gentlemen, we have terrorists to capture. Team A, enter from the rear entrance. Team B, enter the building via the front entrance - take care of the vehicle. Team C, cover the entrances of the port, don’t let anyone in or out. Team D, you’re entering from above. Over.”

The teams would acknowledge the plan. “HUA!”

Team B would approach the vehicle and front of the entrance from the west, sticking close to the un-windowed side of the warehouse. The man that had been left behind by Villeneuve to care for the vehicle had their back turned to the JTF2 operatives and the smell of weed came from the joint between his fingers. The senior of Team B would signal for his comrades to remain behind the wall and the man remained crouched and sneaked up to the vehicle and once behind the man he would grab him by the hair and smash his head onto the roof of the vehicle. Knocked out cold, Team B would quickly approach the main door and form a defensive perimeter while their senior secured the terrorist with zip-ties.

“Ready.” The senior would state before taking his position at the forefront of Team B. He would radio in. “Team B, breaching. Over.”

Meanwhile, Team D had climbed the railings, stairs, and ladders of the warehouse’s fire escape and had positioned themselves to the warehouse’s top level entrance. “Team D ready. Over.”

Team A were already at the rear exit. “Team B ready. Over.”

“Breaching. Go.” At that moment, all three teams - sixty JTF2 operatives entered through their respective doors and silently rushed into the warehouse. It was a small building and while it still had a few twists and turns, finding Villeneuve was no hard task as the terrorists had decided to make their deal on the main floor. The teams were like ghosts and the terrorists were unaware of their presence until a flashbang dropped onto them from above and both blinded and deafened them. Team A and B rushed into the center of the warehouse floor and tackled each of the four terrorists: Villeneuve, his two vehicle buddies, and whoever the warehouse worker was that aided the smuggling.

“Drop your weapons! Stay on the ground and do not resist! You’re all under arrest.” There was a struggle but after a few kicks and a few more punches, the terrorists accepted their fates and were zip-tied into restraining.

Team B’s senior would radio in to their commander. “Shipment secured. Terrorists restrained. Over.”

“Good job. Keep your positions until my arrival. Over.” Team D would arrive within M1117s and would load up Villeneuve and the other terrorists into them, assuring no escape. Teams A, B, and C would depart from the port and return to CFB Valcartier for the detained of the terrorists and their return home. Team D, however, would remain and take various pictures of the warehouse, including the shipment of the weapons… but on closer inspection…

“FUBAR!” The commander would exclaim. “So the intel was right - these are French… Five thousand FAMAS assault rifles.”

“Jesus Christ.” Another operative would curse. “Those motherfuckers actually did it… they armed terrorists!”

“Aye, but these FAMAS aren’t all of it… the intel stated there were snipers and pistols. We’ll have to find them.” Until then, the shipment of FAMAS would be closed up and sent to CFB Valcartier as evidence against the French. Pictures of the shipment, each of the firearms, and their manufacturing numbers and symbols would all be taken and saved.

Both the shipment and Villeneuve were secured.

Secret
2nd Counter-Terrorism Unit would arrive at Villeneuve’s home. Two M1117s would be used to block access to the road from the north-west and the north-east, assuring that no civilian interference would occur. The rest of the M1117s would be stationed around the home in a circular perimeter and the M2A2 Bradley would be positioned on the road in front of the home in such a way that gave its gun a clear view of the home.

A team of six, nicknamed Team Six would be the ones tasked with entering, clearing, and securing Villeneuve’s home. “Montreal was able to acquire the blueprint of the fucker’s house.” Their senior stated as he placed it on a small table behind the M2A2 Bradley. “There’s six rooms on the first floor then an open room in the basement. Our top priority is securing his laptop or computer. Second is to secure the house. There’s no backdoor, so we’re heading in from the front. Unsure if the house is empty or not nor if it's trapped. So keep your eyes peeled and your bang sticks at the ready.”

“HUA!” The operatives acknowledged.

Team Six formed a line and rushed up the porch of the house and the main door. They looked inside the windows; dark, silent, and empty. The senior tried the handle of the door; unlocked. The operative used a flashlight to illuminate the door and the crevice it created when he began to slowly push it. Once the door was only very, very slightly open, the hardened war veteran and leader of Team Six would pull out a can of pink Silly String from his tool belt and begin spraying the floor at the bottom of the door. It would take a few moments but eventually the string would settle. “Trap detected.” He stated simply as he noticed the Silly String did not rest on the floor but instead on an extremely thin wire. He pulled out wire cutters and would cut the trip wire. “Trap deactivated.”

Team Six would breach inside the building and begin clearing the main floor, after only a few moments - the main floor would be considered clear and safe. Then came the basement. Continuing to use his pink Silly String, Team Six would follow their senior down the basement stairs with upmost care and silence. Only one other tripwire would be detected, it being disarmed by a wire cutter. It took only a moment to clear the small basement where Villeneuve seemed to have kept his computers and various other illegal items, including explosives.

Team Six would collect Villeneuve’s computers, including the one where the Oriflamme Society had contacted him, and would exit the building - the bomb squad taking over from there.

Villeneuve’s computers and his home were now secured by the Canadian government.
