Operation Shadow Lance NOVEMBER 2006 - Intelligence Gathering of Al-QaedaIn Progress
Operation REDACTED tbcREDACTEDIn Planning

The Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) have now received formal authorisation from Whitehall to initiate Operation Shadow Lance, a targeted intelligence-gathering campaign focused on the identification, tracking, and analysis of Al-Qaeda elements operating within Afghanistan, the perpetrators who claimed responsibility for the coordinated attacks in London last year. Designed to operate with discretion, the mission will be conducted under strict deniability protocols and all deploying assets are to operate under non-official cover. By 0900, selected personnel had been given a brief report via secure channels and requested to attend a meeting hosted by the Chief of Section: SL immediately.

Within a matter of minutes, the secure meeting room housed deep within Vauxhall Cross was at full capacity. Operatives, analysists, field controllers and logistics personnel had convened, each handpicked for their role in the upcoming operation. The atmosphere was tense and focused. It begun with a formal entrance of the Chief of Section: Shadow Lance (SL), the senior officer appointed to lead the operation. After brief introductions, the strategic framework was laid out and the operational goals highlighted. The room emptied an hour later. No questions were asked aloud, and no clarifications were needed.

Shadow Lance was in motion.
