The Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is shocked and appalled by the acquiesence with which the Romanian state has allowed incidents of violent and extremely Islamophobic nature to take place on their soil against those individuals of faith and in particular those of Turkish ethnicity.

With respect to such developments, The Embassy in Burcharest is to be subject to closure and Pakistani Nationals asked to return home in the interest of state security and their personal well being. Until, measures can be taken to prevent further incidents The Government in Islamabad is hereby resolved to put relations on hold until further notice.

We ask that Romanian diplomatic officials and nationals schedule their departure within 3 months time. Nothing shall be done to further breed tensions or cause for provocation.
