Greetings Madame President.

My name is Rodrigo Roa Duterte, President of the Federal Republic of the Philippines. It's an honor communicating with you for the first time. I am writing to you for the purpose of establishing bilateral relationships and other progressive endeavors between our two (2) nations.

Despite our distance, Germany has historically been a friend of the Philippines way back when Philippines was still a Spanish colony. During the 19th century, the friendship between Felix Blumentritt and our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal, played a very important role in the eventual quest of Philippine independence from Spain. Testament to that friendship is the statue of our National Hero in Wilhelmsfeld, Heidelberg.

I wish to renew bilateral relationships with Germany and possible forge new treaties and agreements that will mutually benefit our 2 countries. I'd like to meet you in Germany but due to my present health condition, I may need to stay here in the Philippines for the meantime. Perhaps a videocall is fine with you? Of course, in your most convenient and available time.

Mister President, While I am certain that the Frau Präsidentin would enjoy speaking with you in a private video call, she is unfortunately, as of the moment, tied up in talks with other leaders of Germany in other matters that we are certain you are aware of; if you are not aware, Frau Präsidentin Kästner is currently attending the Constitutional Convention with members of the Bundestag and of the Federal States. While she could potentially contact you afterwards, it is uncertain whether or not her position as President shall be maintained, and whether or not she will even retain authority.
