Greetings Your Excellency,
I am Alan Peter Cayetano of the Philippines' Department of Foreign Affairs. It's an honor communicating with you for the first time. I am writing to you for the purpose of starting a good relationship between our country.
For starters, we would like to open up commerce between our 2 nations by establishing trade routes between our countries. To refresh our memory in history, Indian cultural influence reached the Philippines during the 7th century Sriwijaya Empire till the Majapahit Empire era, with early Filipinos trading with India by establishing the ancient sea route between Philippines and Tamil Nadu. If you will be interested, we would like to re-establish trade routes.
We are also interested in signing a Free Trade Agreement and Non-Aggression Pact with your country to ensure stronger economic and defense relationship between Philippines and India. Speaking of defense, my country's Armed Forces is still in its infancy but through dedication and political will of the Duterte government, we aspire to create a minimum but credible defense force. With this, we would also be a very grateful for India's assistance.
Please let me know if we can move forward with the ideas I presented above. We look forward to your optimistic response and we wish peace and prosperity to India
Sincerely yours,
Alan Peter Cayetano
Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs
