[POR] Diplomatic Call to France

After the discussion with Germany though email, the Department of State would instruct the Ambassador of Portugal in France to call the office of the Minister, Sophie Dubois. He would wait for him to be picked up by her, holding a few documents in his hand and reading through them careful, these would be the instruction of the Department.

The call would be done on an encrypted and private line.

After finishing the daily briefing and meeting with her staff Sophie would be notified of the Portuguese call. Once back in her office she would pick up the phone at which point her Secretary would notify the Portuguese Ambassador that they were being connected to the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs.

"Hello Minister! I hope you are doing well! I'm going to go straight to the issue. We were contacted by Germany regarding the issues between Germany and France, after a few discussions, my government has decided to offer Portugal as a neutral location and mediator for Germany and France to meet. I would like to know your thoughts on this, and where you accept this meeting with Germany representatives? Portugal is a firm believer in peace, and the stabilization of Europe as a whole."

Sophie was taken a bit aback by the rather direct to the point nature but quickly maintained her composure. "Thank you, your Excellency. I am doing well yes. The Prime Minister has recently reached out to the German Chancellor with the offer to initiate talks for the normalization of relations. With this in mind the Empire of France does not oppose Portugal as a host nation for such talks"

He would pause and hear Mrs. Sophie words. “That is great to hear Mrs. Sophie! I'm glad that an avenue for discussions has opened between Germany and France, we must not forget how central and important a great partnership and cooperation between your nations is for Europe at large. We already have the details for the meeting, Germany voiced its need for secrecy, as such, it will be done in the City of Braga, a couple of kilometers from Porto. The Portuguese Diplomatic Service will be able to take you there fairly quickly and secretly. The meeting will be done with me as the host and mediator. It will be done on the municipal chambers house. After the official French and Germany's transport plane enter Portuguese Airspace, they will be escorted by Portuguese F-16's until Porto's Airport. If you wish, you can travel today for the meeting to be conducted still today. Since it's only 1 to 2 hours of flight from France and Germany to Portugal."
