It was early in the morning in Faro, with the usual traffic clogging up the streets, it was looser now that the government has invested more in public transport. Still, people were making their way to their daily workplace, shuffling along the sidewalks. At the airport, Alexandrina Coelho, who had just ended the call to UZACOM, quickly made her way to the waiting C-141 star lifters. The final boxes of supplies and water had just been packed, and the only thing left was the departure.

"Good to see everyone here, shall we go?"

The flight crew for each aircraft would be composed of 2 pilots, 2 flight engineers, 1 navigator, and 1 loadmaster, all of which are wearing their standard-issue uniforms and carrying their service pistols, their USP-9. Along with 2 magazines for emergency use.

An encrypted call would then be forwarded to their higher-ups, primarily the Regimental Commander in chief of the Royal Dragoons, and the Ministry of Security and Intelligence.

The Dragoons would be given their standard-issue uniform, along with their HK G3, complete with 5 magazines for self-defense, an FN Minimi for each squad, with 2 extra magazines, their service pistol with 3 magazines. They would also be given the orders to follow protocol on the ROA when they arrived on Zimbabwe, coordinating with peacekeeping forces at Zimbabwe. The Dragoons would be supplied with basic MRE's good for a week.

All C-141 Starlifters would be fueled with enough fuel to last the trip to Gemena. After the final moments of the briefing, the aircraft would close their cargo bays, along with their cargo inside, and the first one would begin it's take-off procedures. The second wave would only contain food, water, and construction material, while the final wave would be filled with 2 UHT-596 Lusitano trucks, and 3 UMM Alter IIs, along with even more supplies.

The Governments of every nation involved in UZACOM would be notified of the operation.

The route here is as follows:
IM>IL>JL>JK>JJ>KJ>KI (Faro to Gemena)

KI>KH (Gemena to Harare)

It wouldn't be long until the incoming caravan approaches Zairian territory. Following international protocol, they would make sure that everything was done as smoothly as possible. The leading C-141 would attempt to contact tower on their descent. Making their intentions clear, they would tune in to the frequency of Gemena Tower and establish contact.

"Gemena tower, this is Echo-Foxtrot-Five-Niner-Two-Alpha, request V-F-R traffic advisories. Over."

Once contact is established, the aircraft would proceed to start landing procedures, following the lead by Gemena tower.

Secret Security Operation, No documents disclosed to the public

At Gemena International Airport, the air traffic control tower and personnel who had received the prior flight information and pathing from Portugal, would ensure that the airways and runway were clear for the landing of the Portuguese expedition. The airport had seen increased traffic over the last several weeks, as Zairian Regulations had opened up the skies over Zaire to increased international travel, as well as greatly increased the safety of all flights in the nation.

Gemena Tower would contact the incoming Portuguese Aircraft.

"This is Gemena Tower 1, you are cleared for approach and landing on runway 1. Delegation is on the ground to assist your deployment. Welcome to Africa and Zaire."

At Runway 1, A delegation of Anti-Corruption Police, from the Gemena Precinct were deployed to greet the Portuguese. x20 men, in their Zairian Green Uniforms, with Yellow and Red Berets would be prepared to greet and protect the incoming men, all of them armed with Browning Hi-Power Pistols, and carrying additional magazines on their persons. Capitaine Laurent Sese Seko was in charge of the delegation.

The personnel waiting for the Portuguese would be greeted by the sounds of the leading Starlifter's engine, as the wheels touch the cold pavement of runway down below. Onlookers would notice its tail, proudly displaying the Portuguese Royal Air Force Roundel, the symbolic Cross of the Order of Christ. After taxiing and guided by Zairian personnel, the first C-141 would open its cargo doors, as the first few Portuguese officers set foot on Africa yet again. It has been quite a long time since Portuguese boots touched the ancient African soil, and a remarkable feat that the Royal Assembly approved such an endeavor.

Nonetheless, Regimental Commandant Bernardino Lalo Valdez would greet their Zairian hosts, saluting the Captain in front of him. After which he would extend his hand for a handshake.

"Bernanrdino Valdez, Regimental Commandant of the Field Battle Unit, Royal Dragoons. The rest of the Dragoons, totaling to roughly 50 men, of which 30 are as discussed, will be responsbile for the training of the local Zairian armed forces in battling hostile personnel. I will assure you that they have the utmost skill and determination unparralled by any standing army. They are the cream of the crop. The 20 additional Dragoons are also deployed to facilitate the next few airlifts here in Gemena, so that valuable Zairian manpower may not be wasted tending to our aircraft."

He would smile, lifting his greying mustache, waiting for a response. In the meantime, Portuguese personnel would help the Zairian ground crew in refueling the planes for their journey to Harare. SIS agents, trained in covert opertaions, would also disembark the aircraft, and request that they speak to the intelligence agency of the country, or something in a similar vein.

"We are very happy to have you here, and we are eager to assist you in getting a bearing of the country before proceeding with operations, please let us show you around the air base which will serve as your Forward Operating Base while you are in country. We off course eagerly support your mission into Zimbabwe and will provide whatever you need to get underway as quickly as possible."

Capitaine Laurent Sese Seko and his delegation would show the men to their quarters, they would also show them the cafeteria, recreational areas, the air strip, as well as several other areas of the Air Port, from here they would then take them to a stage area where they could set up logistics and have strategic discussions.

"We welcome you to Zaire, and we wish to make your stay as pleasant as possible, there is food to be served shortly in the Cafeteria, we would like to all dine together as a group so that we may begin to know one another, after this we will allow you to retire and make whatever preparations you have necessary, we are sure you are all very tired from your travels. We will have much work to do in the coming days, and we look forward to carrying it out alongside your units."

After enough delays, the Portuguese aircraft would begin preparing for take-off procedures once more to their destination of Harare. After securing and checking the cargo and passengers, the planes would close its doors and begin taxiing down the runway. The lead aircraft would follow ATC directions and begin pushing their thrusters to maximum speed. Within seconds, the first Starlifter would take off, a magnificent sight to behold to everyone on the ground. The African sun getting ready to set near the horizon.

The Portuguese units left within Harare would begin setting up immediately, some refusing the generous offer of dining together for the sake of keeping up with tasks. Most of them, however, agreed to dine with their hosts. Most of the Portuguese personnel stationed in Zaire are actually well-versed in English, some fluent in French, including their commander. Most of the men were in their mid-to-late 20's, clean-shaven, and clearly eager to work alongside their new compatriots.

"Capitaine, English or French?"

Regimental Commandant Bernardino would quip before entering the mess hall alongside the mixed brigade of Portuguese and Zairian soldiers.

In the meanwhile, the first lead plane, after clearing Zairan airspace, would attempt to make contact with the Argentine-administered Harare International Airport once within range. Again, keeping with international regulations to make the journey as smooth as possible. The departure of the last aircraft would signal the Portuguese personnel on the ground to privately relay the message to UZACOM:

"Portugal is coming."

The portuguese aircraft would be cleared to land. Zimbabwean authorities would be informed of the arrival.

UZACOM sent a reply informing the Portuguese that they were eagerly awaited within Zimbabwe. They should expect an easy landing due to the lack of air traffic approaching Zimbabwe, which was limited solely to international partners supporting UZACOM or GAPFOR-Zimbabwe.
