This is a Statement from the Portuguese Republic, considering the clash of tensions happening between Israel, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, which also involves yourself, we would like to extend our sincere support. The information provided by the Saudi Arabian Twitter regarding the siezing of commercial vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden is extremely worrying, for this Portugal extends its support in the form of the possibility of your commercial vessels to dock when needed in Portuguese Ports, considering the key strategic position of our nation for shipping routes. Your Shipping is most welcomed in our ports, if they do not want to venture trough the Suez Canal, finding an alternative route through the Panama Canal or around Africa making a refueling stop in our ports.
We cannot offer military support, but we can offer you other types of support, such as logistic personnel or civilian personnel like doctors, nurses, firefighters. The Portuguese Republic hopes that this clash will not lead to more casualties, but we do view the Turkish government actions as nothing short of a genocide.
