PROJECT | Agogo - Deepwater Oil Fields |
PROJECT COST | 1,160,000,000.00 |
COMPLETION DATE | 16/12/2022 |
PROJECT INFORMATION | Although currently in production, the Agogo oil field is significantly under-exploited. 92km west of Soyo, the field in Block 15 was discovered to possess approximately 1 billion barrels of oil following the drilling of a second appraisal well. Despite this, daily production has remained at just 20,000 barrels per day, extracted by an overstretched FPSO already in operation within the block extracting from the neighbouring fields. To extract further oil, a Floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit capable of extracting and processing 250,000 barrels-per-day will be commissioned, supported by a subsea facility comprising of 68 wells. The vessel will be constructed in Lobito's currently mothballed shipyard. During the operation, the FPSO's stored oil will be transported to the terminal in the Port of Luanda by a commercial oil tanker, where it will be stored, further processed and presented to the export market. At the target rates of production and reserve estimates, the Agogo oil field will be depleted after approximately 11 years of extraction. |
