PROJECT | Golfinho - Deepwater Oil Fields |
PROJECT COST | 760,000,000.00 |
COMPLETION DATE | 30/11/2022 |
PROJECT INFORMATION | Located in the deepwater development Block 20/11 and Block 21/09, approximately 150km south-west of Luanda, Golfinho oil fields was prospected and estimated to hold 420 million barrels of oil. The oil fields discovery was supported by the completion of drilling works via an appraisal well, reinforcing previous predictions of significant coastal reservoirs located beneath the salt layer in this area. To extract the oil, a Floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit capable of extracting and processing 100,000 barrels-per-day will be commissioned, supported by a subsea facility comprising of 26 wells. The vessel will be constructed in Lobito's currently mothballed shipyard. During the operation, the FPSO's stored oil will be transported to the terminal in the Port of Luanda by a commercial oil tanker, where it will be stored, further processed and presented to the export market. At the target rates of production and reserve estimates, the Golfinho oil field will be depleted after approximately 12 years of extraction. |
