| PROJECT INFORMATION | The Honourable Company Special Economic Zones (HCSEZ) Expansion Project is a national infrastructure development initiative designed to establish five Special Economic Zones (SEZs) across the country. This project aims to attract foreign direct investment, boost manufacturing capabilities, create employment opportunities, and enhance India's position as a regional manufacturing and logistics hub. Project Objectives:
The third of these zones is the Daman Industrial & Port Special Economic Zone. It is located within the Daman district of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Company Territory. It will be a coastal-industrial export zone focused on heavy industry, petrochemicals, advanced manufacturing, and port logistics. It will feature direct access to the Arabian Sea with expansion capacity for deepwater cargo operations. The total size of the DIPSEZ will be roughly 3,600 hectares. These 3,600 hectares will be broken into 1,800 hectares dedicated to heavy industry, advanced manufacturing, and large-scale export production; 700 hectares dedicated to port infrastructure, logistics hubs, container terminals, and customs facilities; 500 hectares dedicated to commercial zones, corporate offices, and industrial support services; 400 hectares dedicated to worker housing and social infrastructure; and 200 hectares dedicated to strategic expansion and utility corridors. Within this zone will also be a dedicated deepwater cargo terminal, an integrated freight rail linkage to inland industrial corridors, a high-capacity power substation, an industrial wastewater treatment and recycling system, and an on-site container storage yard and bonded warehouse complex. |
