PROJECT | Tempo Rapido Railway System -Phase II |
PROJECT COST | 100,000,000.00 |
COMPLETION DATE | 01/07/20 |
PROJECT INFORMATION | Secondary Railway systems would be constructed, with Braga, Lisbon, and Faro as the main transport hubs. This would be the second phase of the Tempo Rapido Railway System, which was aimed to connect most of Portugal through rail by 2005. In the north, 50M would be allocated to create a secondary railway line that connects large cities in the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Villa Real, Braganca, Aveiro, Viseu, and Guarda. These Railways would hopefully encourage development of these districts. In the center, 30M would be allocated to create a secondary railway line that connects large cities in the districts of Coimbra, Leira, Castelo Branco, Santarem, Portalegre, and Lisboa. These Railways would hopefully connect these districts to Lisbon and vice versa. In the south, 20M would be allocated to create a secondary railway line that connects large cities in the districts of Setubal, Evora, Beja, and Faro. These Railway lines would facilitate the transportation of civilians and material goods to the different districts. |
