| PROJECT INFORMATION | The Sochi Naval Base is proposed as a modern maritime operations and support facility located on the Black Sea coast, designed to support the operational and logistical requirements of the Russian Navy. The installation will provide secure docking, maintenance, training, and accommodation infrastructure, forming a comprehensive naval support hub capable of sustaining regional fleet activities. The harbour complex will include deep-water berthing infrastructure sufficient to accommodate up to 24 frigates simultaneously, along with additional space for auxiliary and support vessels. Reinforced piers, integrated shore power connections, and modern mooring systems will allow for efficient docking, servicing, and resupply operations. Dedicated maintenance quays and technical support areas will enable routine inspections, minor repairs, and fleet readiness operations directly within the base. To maintain high levels of operational security, the Sochi Naval Base will incorporate layered security architecture. This will include controlled access gates, perimeter protection systems, integrated surveillance networks, thermal and low-light monitoring cameras, coastal radar coverage, and automated vessel identification systems to monitor maritime approaches. A centralised command and security control centre will coordinate monitoring, access management, and emergency response across the installation. The base will also feature modern accommodation facilities for naval personnel, officers, and technical staff. These facilities will include residential quarters, dining halls, medical support units, administrative offices, and recreational amenities to support long-term deployments and maintain personnel welfare. A dedicated training and operational readiness complex will support continuous professional development and operational preparation. The complex will include simulation suites for maritime operations, technical training classrooms, briefing rooms, and emergency response training facilities designed to maintain crew proficiency and readiness. Extensive logistics and storage infrastructure will form a key component of the base. The installation will include large-capacity warehouses, equipment storage areas, fuel and supply depots, spare parts facilities, and secure storage zones for sensitive materials. Internal logistics routes will allow efficient movement of supplies between storage areas, maintenance zones, and the docking facilities. Overall, the Sochi Naval Base is designed to function as a self-sustaining naval support centre in the Black Sea region, combining fleet docking capacity, advanced security systems, personnel accommodation, training infrastructure, and extensive logistics support to maintain continuous operational capability. |
