PROJECT INFORMATION | The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) headquarters will occupy the building known as the "George Bush Center for Intelligence" as well as the surrounding property in Langley, Virginia. Inside of the building will be start of the art communications equipment as well as plenty of office space for the agency to be able to manage its field offices and agents around the world. All of the windows are blast resist and the walls are retrofitted so that listening into the building would be exceptionally difficult from the outside, and virtually impossible at distances. The building will also have diesel generators in the basement (with exhaust going out of the building) in the event that there is a major power failure. There is also ample security precautions to prevent unwanted people from entering, including metal detectors at all entrances and exists as well as an integrated network of security cameras capable of recording sound, color, and even switching to night vision and infrared. Getting into and out of the building requires going through at least two security checkpoints that includes the requirement of scanning a CIA-issued ID with a unique microchip and barcode within it for each employee. These security checkpoints are always manned, even on federal holidays. The CIA has one primary objective: gathering intelligence outside of the United States in order to protect the homeland. |
